We were in Hagi on the first hot day of the year, and the AC was fast, effective and a lifesaver - in both living and sleeping areas. "I had inquired about a vegetarian breakfast option through Expedia messages, but never received a reply. I had booked a room with breakfast, so I was concerned. The hotel staff was very attentive and contacted the chef to arrange a vegetarian breakfast. The food was delicious but sparse. The wait staff asked how our breakfast was and made adjustments for the next day’s breakfast. Completely different breakfast and more substantial. The public bath amenities were nice, clean and not crowded. The hotel is right on the beach with beautiful views. It was also very easy to get a taxi from the hotel, front desk can make the call and was only a 5 minute wait ."

Many staff members spoke a good level of English, which added warmth and enjoyment to our stay. The front desk was also especially helpful with arranging bookings during the Japanese national holidays, Golden Week. We look forward to trying other Hoshino Resorts properties in the future."

"The property was located in the heart of the town. There were lots of grocery and dining options within walking distance. The beach was a short drive away too. We were able to drive to many scenic places like Akiyoshido Cave and the quasi national park from there. The house was spacious and very clean. The neighborhood was quiet other than during the elementary school’s break time when little children could be heard playing. The house was also well stocked, though I wish there could’ve been soup/ rice bowls, a kitchen scissors and a rice cooker. I was also slightly confused by the check in procedure but thankfully the Rakuten team responded soon enough to help us with it. Overall, it was a very pleasant 1 week stay and we enjoyed the place very much. "
