Nous avons séjourné une semaine dans cet appart'hôtel. Tout allait bien jusqu’au dernier jour. Ayant un vol tardif (22h35), nous avons demandé à garder la chambre un peu plus longtemps, ce que le personnel a accepté. Nous sommes allés bronzer à quelques mètres de l'appartement et, à notre retour, nous avons constaté un cambriolage : valise fouillée, baie vitrée ouverte (jamais utilisée), argent liquide, papiers...

"Highly Disappointed!!! Our family did not stay here since I could not get the property manager to respond to my emails/texts. They never sent check-in information. I had to contact the main VRBO office, who also could not get response from property manager. We got reservation cancelled and full refund. Added a lot of stress to our trip, considering I had made reservation several months earlier!"

"My family of 5 picked this luxury apartment for a recent trip to DAR. Check in was 4pm but we arrived at 4:45pm, but the apartment was still being cleaned. We dropped our luggages and left to allow the cleaning to be completed. We returned at 10:30pm only to find numerous live creeping bugs and a coakroach in one of the bedrooms and the hallway. "This is a rustic property (and I mean that in a good way). If you want the authentic stone town experience, this is it. However, the WiFi isn’t the best. "I enjoyed my stay at Mandarin Resort Zanzibar. I was pleased to see how the management and staff were accommodating and friendly. My initial booking included a complimentary airport shuttle, which they failed to provide. However, they made sure my stay was worthwhile. Magdi, the manager, gave me a the password to the WIFI in the suites for free (FYI - you have to pay for the WIFI in the rooms), and they gave me a complimentary ride back to the airport. "My husband and I split our time in Zanzibar between two places. Our first stay was a the KonoKono resort and in the over water villas. It was absolutely fabulous and honestly the nicest hotel room/villa we have ever experienced. We felt totally spoilt by the hotel and well looked after for our stay. The food was delicious! I have a severe allergy to garlic and gluten and they catered to my needs so I didn’t feel like I was missing out.
The room was stunning with a gorgeous view from the balcony. The cleanliness was impeccable.
The bed was huge and so comfortable too and we slept very well during our stay.
The floating breakfast was so decadent and really fun. We also loved the Tanzanian food night - fish masala curry was to die for!
The resort is also extremely close to The Rock Restaurant which is an incredible experience.
Charles was absolutely fantastic. He is a real credit to the team at the hotel. Jackson and Rosemary took great care of us during our stay too. Thank you so much!
Points to consider…
The road on the way up to the hotel was extremely bumpy but it would not deter us from returning. It’s just not ideal if you are planning to do lots of trips in and out.
Personally, if you are staying in the water villas I think I better system should be in place for transporting bags (like a buggy or something similar) the walk was lovely but quite long if you are carrying things. "
