We had an amazing time in this house. We really enjoyed using the pool and spent lots of time in the garden during our stay. We had everything we needed, shops are located nearby as well. Nino was a really helpful and friendly host.

We stayed at the property with our grown up children and grand daughter. We had an amazing holiday. Nino was the best host: so kind, generous and helpful. Communication was excellent. Nino and his wife Rafaela are wonderful people. Nino picked us up at the airport. Rafaela left home baked bread and cake and trays of meat fish and cheese. The house has the most beautiful gardens. The home is lovely with 4 bedrooms bathrooms and a large living area and kitchen plus a sun/ game room. It is about 2 miles from Cavtat, a wonderful seaside village with beautiful shops and restaurants and it’s about 30 minutes to Dubrovnik. Our family is hoping to go back again someday. There is parking and a car is helpful to get around. It was a wonderful home base for our trip.

Stunning Villa and Host

Our first visit to Croatia, and the whole process from booking to being in the villa was faultless. The villa is exactly as described, spread over 2 floors, with many bathrooms and bedrooms. The outdoor area is a haven! fantastic quality furniture around the pool, beautiful shaded BBQ area with an amazing grill, to wicker and steel furniture given so much room. The games area was made use of, the welcome gifts not only where greatly appreciated but sums up the love, care and attention Nino and Rafaella have for their property and their guests needs. You could walk from the airport, location ideal for supermarket and a fabulous restaurant in Domestico, truly a wonderful 9 days in Nino's villa made for a very special and enjoyable holiday. Digital TV so you can sign on to your fav subscription services if needed in the evenings, and good thick mattresses which made sleep so comfortable. Hvala Nino

Fabulous Villa near Dubrovnik

We had brilliant weeks stay in the Villa. It is very spacious, with 4 beds, separate kitchen, lounge area plus 4 bathrooms (one ensuite). It is not ultra-modern, but has all you need, was very clean, airy and perfect for a family break. The outdoors space is delightful, with a covered veranda, extended garden, a couple of Tortoises and heated pool (10mx4m?) Nino is a wonderful host, picking us up from the airport (only 1km away), beer, wine, meat/cheese platter and salad in the fridge on arrival plus freshly picked figs and grapes delivered through the week Note there is very little in walking distance, thought the small supermarket has most things and the restaurant is great (we ate there 3 times!), but Cavtat is only €15 in a taxi. Dubrovnik is about 30 mins and €25/€30. Also note it is close to the airport so there is aircraft noise, but it did not mar our holiday in any way. Highly recommended and would vote 6 stars if we could...

The best holiday we have had

We have taken this type of holidays regularly and this has been the best for several important reasons. The best bit are the hosts, Rafaella and Nino. They have been very generous with their time with great advice about local amenities and points of interest. They provided wonderful food and local produce, including when we arrived. The house is wonderful. It is spacious, very clean and the pool and gardens are a great place to relax and enjoy the wonderful weather. We had several family members visit while we were here and they each enjoyed it all as much as we did. The kitchen is always important for us and it is very well equipped - including for eating outside. The village is great and we enjoyed wonderful walks - though it isn't "gentle" walking and a car was necessary to got to the supermarket and Cavtatt. There is a local supermarket close by which is helpful as well We really enjoyed the restaurant next door when we didn't feel like cooking We would readily recommend this place for a relaxing holiday where the welcome is warm and real - we hope to come back.

Superb Villa!

Excellent in all respects! Great communication and attentiveness from the owner, Nino, who met us at the airport and guided us to the villa - which was only a very short drive away. Nino's wife had prepared a great platter of cold meats and cheeses and some lovely cakes and liquors on our arrival, and we were supplied with regular bowls of fresh salads from his gardens. She also kindly cooked us a delicious Croatian meal on evening. One thing in particular that we all noticed was the comfort of all the beds - they were superb, and I slept the best I have ever done in over 30 years of Villa holidays. The Villa and pool are completely private and not overlooked - one of the photos on the site shows a 'hostel' type place at the rear, but the shrubs and bushes have now grown to completely obscure the property from their windows. As other have said, the occasional aircraft noise is not a bother at all, and the neighbour-hood was quiet and relaxed. Excellent restaurant 'Domestico' about 3 mins walk away, plus a very well stocked supermarket. The local town Cavtat is a beautiful place,from where you can take water-taxis across to local islands or to Dubrovnik.

LOVELY VILLA, EXCELLENT HOST.The villa is really well equipped with everything you need for a self catering holiday. The outdoor furniture was of high quality and really comfortable. The large pool was heated and crystal clear throughout the holiday. The beds were comfortable with plenty towels provided & air con in all the bedrooms. There is a smart TV in the living room so we were able to watch Netflix etc. There are TV's in the bedrooms but the sat boxes needed some attention.The garden is now mature and could do with a trim. Whilst not a big problem we did suffer a midge bite or two. On the plus side there were numerous fruit trees and a couple of resident tortoises. (We named Gozlo & Harrid)The villa is situated either a 5 k trail walk to Cavtat or a short Uber ride approx 10. Dubrovnik old town is approx 20, there is a local supermarket 5 mins walk away which was reasonably well stocked. There are much larger stores a bit further afield but you need a car. The host Nino kindly offered to take us to a large Lidl which was a great help. There is also a local restaurant which was good value with fab food (They also do a pizza takeaway service).Nino was an excellent host, he messaged prior to us arriving and offered to pick us up at the airport. He offered to take us shopping when he picked us up. On arrival we were greeted with homemade fig cake, liqueur & tapas. He offered us lifts when he could to Cavtat & to a view point. A great holiday with a superb host.

This was our 1st visit to Croatia and we would like to thank Nino and his family for making it such a great holiday From the minute we booked correspondence with Nino was great answering any questions we had. Nino and Rafaela collected us from the airport and took us to the Villa where a welcome drink was shared and a gift of wine ,bread, fruit, vegetables and cakes was given. The delivery of food continued throughout our stay and was much appreciated. The Villa itself is huge with 4 large double bedrooms with great comfortable beds, but it was the outside space we enjoyed the most, a huge covered patio area with different areas to sit and eat or relax. Then the great pool which is ideal for cooling off in. There is a supermarket a few minutes walk away which is well stocked and a restaurant behind it which was very good. We used Uber to get into Cavtat and Dubrovnik which worked well. Would recommend the Tuktuk tour in Dubrovnik and you must walk the city walls. Nino was always around, usually watering his garden, if you needed anything but was never intrusive, we would recommend this Villa to anyone and sure you would have an equally great time with the warmest of welcomes. Amazing stay!

I cannot say enough about this beautiful villa, its fantastic location and the warmth and helpfulness of the owners. The villa was extremely comfortable and well equipped for 5 adults staying for 2 weeks. The location was absolutely perfect. Close to the aiport and a very easy drive to Cavtat or Dubrovnik. Also easy to get to Montenegro and Bosnia from the villa if you are interested in travelling during your stay. Nino and Rafaella were so helpful and kind, they really make this villa extra special

We (2 adults & 4 older children) have just returned from a fabulous 9 night stay at Nino's amazing villa. The hospitality & kindness that Nino & Rafaella showed us was beyond our expectations. Nino kindly collected us from the airport & we arrived at the villa to an array of homemade/homegrown food & drink to welcome us. Nino kept us replenished with fresh produce from his garden during our stay.The villa was spotlessly clean & surpassed any expectations ( which were already high as we'd read past reviews). The kitchen had everything you could possibly require & everwhere inside was spacious & comfortable. The outside area, where we spent most of our time, was also spacious with a variety of colouful shrubs & plants to give complete privacy. There is a choice of outdoor eating areas plus a comfy outdoor sofa. The pool is well maintained & spotlessly clean with comfy sun loungers.A few minutes walk takes you to a well stocked & reasonably priced supermarket. Behind the supermarket is a great restaurant, Domestico, by far our favourite place to eat during our stay. We used Ubers to get around. We found it very efficient & quick.Overall we enjoyed an amazing stay & would love to return one day! Thank you so much!!

Exceeded Expectations

After reading the reviews that others had written I was expecting a great vacation, but what I got was so much more than I thought possible. Nino and his family went way above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Nino met us at the airport, showed us to the house where meat, cheese, homemade cake and liquor awaited us! Nino helped us plan some outings, arranged a private wine tasting, showed to to some amazing restaurants and drove us to catch an island tour. The house and yard is absolutely beautiful, I am so glad we decided to stay here opposed to old town! It lets you get away from the crowds in a serene and comfortable environment. Sitting by the pool relaxing was such a great end to a busy day. It is a easy 20 (or less) min drive to Old town, Cavtat, and local wineries. Uber is also available if you don't want to rent a car. If I ever get the chance I will stay here again!

Wow, just wow

How to start, we came to the villa as a family of six, three couples including my elderly parents who celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary while we were there. Nino, Rafaella and their family could not have done more to make our stay any more perfect. Nino picked us all up from the airport and transported us to the beautiful villa where a welcome drink awaited us, there was cheese wine salad home made cake and bread and beer to start us off. The grounds of the villa are beautiful with lovely sun beds, outside seating and shaded areas. The villa itself was spotless and the beds very comfy. Nino and Rafaella went above and beyond anything we have experienced before. Rafaella cooked a typical Croatian meal for us which was the best meal of the week, definitely recommend that, Nino took us wine tasting, he and his daughter dropped us off at a wonderful restaurant for my parents anniversary and picked us up again and they brought cake and flowers on the day of the anniversary. They are just the nicest family you could wish to meet. We didn’t hire a car we just used Uber to go into Cavtat and one day two of us walked from the villa to the town, quite hilly and rocky but worth it for the views. There is a supermarket within walking distance, as is the restaurant Domestico which was fantastic, wonderful food and service. We cannot recommend this place highly enough.

C'était un merveilleux point de départ pour notre voyage.

Nino et sa femme Rafaela sont des gens formidables. A l’arrivée pour nous, était préparer du pain, des gâteaux et un plateau de jambon du pays et du vin et de la bière, ainsi qu’un panier de légumes De leur jardin. La maison est conforme au descriptif de l’annonce, rien à dire une des meilleures locations que nous avons trouvé. A environ 20 minutes de Dubrovnik et pas loin du Monténégro et de la Bosnie. Une adresse ou allez sans se poser de questions. C'était un merveilleux point de départ pour notre voyage.

Amazing house and area

Nino and Rafaella made our stay in Croatia an amazing experience! The property is stunning and the surrounding area equally so. Right from the time we arrived we were made to feel like family, with a welcome drink on reaching the house, after Nino had met us at the airport. Throuhgout our stay, we had fresh fruit and vegetables in abundance delivered from the families garden, including delicious tomatoes, figs and grapes. The house is very spacious, clean and has all the facilities you would need for a great stay. The garden is beautiful and even has its own little colony of tortoises! These quickly became a favourite with the whole family. It is very close to the airport, but you very quickly become accustomed to the activity and it does not disrupt in any way. The town of Cavtat, just 10 mins away, is a very picturesque and bustling little town. With plenty if restaurants and bars, it is very easy to find different places to eat out. From here you can also take a boat over the bay to Dubrovnik (about 1hr trip) and visit the wonderful city. All in all a fantastic place to stay and we would highly recommend.

A wonderful holiday in a beautiful country

In terms of convenience, Villa Antonija could not be easier to get to, being virtually within walking distance of the airport. But don't worry; there is very little disturbance. Instead, the garden is a beautiful and peaceful escape, with a shady arbour, beautiful planting and a welcome pool. The bedrooms are all air-conditioned, there is plenty of storage and the beds are comfortable (always important!). There is a living and dining area on the first floor as well as the kitchen and utilities at ground level. But we spent very little time inside, apart from preparing food and sleeping. There is a small supermarket nearby with all the basics you might need and a local restaurant that is great for breakfast and also does excellent pizzas! The highlight of the property, however, is the hosts, Nino and Rafaela. They picked us up and dropped us off at the airport and provided a welcome package of meats, cheeses and beers. Rafaela also cooked for us a couple of nights, which was very enjoyable, even if the portions were so large we stood no chance of eating it all! Nino also provided us with some lovely local wines that he can source if you want to take some home. If you have the energy, and the sun is not too hot, you can walk down to the coast and a wonderful secret cove, where you can dive from the rocks into crystal clear waters. You can even walk into Cavtat, the beautiful nearby town, although it's a long walk, so an Uber might be preferable! We used Ubers during our fortnight, which was generally sufficient. However, I think we would have benefitted from hiring a car for a few days and gone exploring the more remote locations. All in all, a wonderful holiday, made even better by Nino and Rafaela's hospitality (not forgetting their son Josip, who works on the tourist boats in the summer and was very good at getting us a great deal for our trips to Dubrovnik!

Outstanding In Every Way!

We considered staying in Dubrovnik, but wanted to experience the local culture in a way that is not possible in a big city. We are so thankful we make the choice we did. The location of the home is superb! There is a little market and a lovely restaurant just a short walk from the house. We dined at the restaurant a few times and it is excellent and inexpensive. Getting to Cavtat, a lovely village that is often used by international diplomats for meetings because of its easy proximity to Dubrovnik, is very easy. Uber is a 5 minute ride and there is always one available. Call Uber rather than a taxi because it is about half of the cost. There is a small walk-on ferry that runs every 30 minutes from Cavtat to Dubrovnik. It takes an hour, but is lovely and we did it several times during our week stay. It was very easy for us to take the five minute Uber from our house to Cavtat, and catch the ferry. We did not need a car, and although we rented one, it was totally unnecessary. Uber and ferry were less expensive than a car and parking would have been. The house is located a couple minutes from the airport, but because it is a small airport it was not busy. Although we could occasionally hear a plane airplane take off, it was not a disruption in any way. We rarely heard planes land because of the landing pattern. The convenience of being that close was amazing! We were able to get to and from the airport in minutes. I saved the best for last and that is that the home owners were beyond amazing. Nino met us with two of his teenage children to welcome us to the home and show us around. He brought some lovely liquors for us to sample and sat with us for a short time to visit. Rafaella, his wife, also stopped by to meet us briefly and left for us a huge plate of local cheeses, meats, homemade bread, and other goodies. The refrigerator was stocked with beers and a bottle of local wine. If you stay here you must ask Rafaella to prepare a meal for you! They offer to cook for an additional fee, and although they don't specify a price, you will want to leave a nice amount as it was excellent! it was a fine local meal in the comfort of your own home, in the garden by the pool! I cannot say enough about this place. We loved every minute of our stay and were sad to return home to the USA when we left.

Best Rental Experience Ever

Staying at Nino’s VRBO south of Dubrovnik was the best home stay rental I have ever done. The property was fantastic and was better than described. But what made this rental special was Nino (the owner) and his family. They are exceptionally generous, caring people and took care of our every need. We even had them make a dinner for us on the property that was the best meal we had on our trip to Croatia. A 5-star plus experience! Thank you Nino!
