Wow-Haus mit eingezäunten Grundstück direkt am Loch
Das Haus ist zauberhaft und durchdacht. Das EG großzügig und Licht durchflutet mit riesiger Küche. Oben 2 Zimmer mit Dachschrägen. Das Zimmer mit dem großen Bett hat ein gefangenes Duschbad mit niedriger (180cm) , schmaler, angeschrägter Zugangstür. Als 2m-Meter-Mann kommt die Duschhöhe ans Limit. Ergänzend ein weiteres Bad mit Badewanne. Die direkte Lage am Loch phantastisch ( nur getrennt durch eine Straße, direkt gg. der Isle of Skye) und das Dorf sehr schön. Ca. 30 Minuten zu relevanten Zielen. Einzigartig die Fähre zur Isle of Skye - unbedingt nutzen. Nur 10 Minuten entfernt.

Wir hatten ein paar schöne Tage in Glenelg.Das Haus ist gut gelegen mit einem tollen Blick aufs Meer.Leider war uns bei der Buchung nicht bewusst, wie abgelegen Glenelg liegt.Der Ort und somit auch das Haus sind von der Haupstr. noch ca. 16 km entfernt und man benötigt fur die zugegeben sehr schöne Strecke über den Pass ca. 25 bis 30 Minuten. Das sollte man beachten, wenn von dort Ausflüge geplant werden. Das Haus war grundsätzlich sauber, bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten. Ansonsten war es ein gelungener Aufenthalt

A Perfect location away from the madding crowd, (Really!).
We arrived in the evening during storm Isha to a proper Hooley! But this did not dishearten us as the location and property were perfect. Located by the shore in Glenelg, we enjoyed the windy peace and quiet, only to be expected in January. The property was cozy and well appointed with a washing machine & tumble dryer. (The tumble dryer is a condensing one so be aware and empty the water tank!). The kitchen was great with all the normal equipment. We could not have wanted for a better place to stay. There is a local shop within 1/4 of a mile for provisions and a pub. Unfortunately the was closed but probably it was just the time of year. We stayed for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed everyone of them. A lovely retreat where we could re-charge our batteries, if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life, this is the place. Would we come again? Most certainly! Thank you.

Solac does what it says of its name a lovely place to just chill and relax house was cosy and well equipped had everything you need. Glenelg Inn was lovely and welcoming overall had a great stay lots of nice walks and great scenery . Would be more than happy to make a return visit.

Due to weather our itinerary changed so arrived in Glenelg earlier than expected Attempted to contact owner to check if possible to check-in early, did not manage to get in touch so spent a pleasant hour in the Glenelg Inn Got to property about 3pm and found the keys as described The property is absolutely stunning, felt warm and welcoming and a fabulous location Had a great few days exploring the area even with the attention from Storm Agnes Thank you for letting us use your lovely home Jane, Dave & Pam Jack & Jeff the jack russells x

Great place to stay
Everything on arrival was as described and we were more than pleased with the house. Photos don’t actually give it justice and was very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Lovely location and would have spent more time in Glenelg if weather had been a bit more accommodating. Would definitely use this house again hopefully when weather may be a bit more on our side and it is North West Scotland so nothing is promised.

What a nice place to stay! The water is on the other side of the road and you can walk alongside the water and enjoy the view. The house is great with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a very spacious kitchen.

Interesting house in lovely location
This was our first visit to this area. The property is a smart detached timber clad house by the shore in the pretty village of Glenelg with private garden to rear. Unfortunately views from the ground floor are restricted by gorse bushes opposite. Glenelg Inn is a 5 minute walk and does good food - booking essential. Short drive to ferry to Skye. Good local shop in village. Some of the other holiday properties have better views.

Lovely stay
A lovely holiday home in a beautiful setting and a 40min drive to the Skye bridge. The house was peaceful and spacious. We cooked in most nights and enjoyed the huge selection of board games! The private garden with picnic table was a pleasant surprise. The beds were comfy and freshly laundered and the bathrooms were spotless- the only shower is in the master en suite. Overall the house was well equipped but in need to a deep clean and a lick of paint. We would stay again if back in the area.

The property is very much as attractive and comfortable as shown on the photographs. Views of the sea could be improved by some taming of gorse bushes in front of the property, but lovely regardless. Within walking distance of the Glenelg Inn.

Glen Elg was stunning and the surrounding countryside, breath-taking!! This property was the perfect place. It looked right out on to the water and hills - regardless of the weather, it was stunning to look at. Solace was cosy, clean and comfortable with small touches of luxury. Prachtig uitzicht!
Qua netheid kon de woning beter (vieze ramen, douchescherm) Leuke vrijstaande woning met prachtig uitzicht op het eiland Skye. Er was geen tv signaal, er lag een briefje van de housekeeper dat het snel hersteld zou worden. In de 4 dagen niemand gezien of iets van gehoord. Wel jammer want we hadden de begrafenis van de Queen graag op tv gezien

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear of the issues you have encountered during your stay. We pride ourselves on having a very clean property and will take your comments on board. We are trying to fix the tv signal but it's not that simple. Often in our area, storms affect tv reception, mobile phone and internet signals for days. Repairing can take a while and it's sometimes undone by the next storm.

Perfect stay!
We had a lovely, peaceful week in Glenelg. The house was perfect and in such a beautiful setting. A very comfortable and well-equipped property, which had everything we needed, including a great selection of games, books and DVDs. The views across to Skye are stunning and we enjoyed many an evening looking out across the bay. The ferry from Glenelg to Skye is a must and we had fun spotting the seals on our crossings. We’d also recommend a trip to the Glenelg Inn, which is a pleasant short walk from the property. The food was delicious and we enjoyed many an evening sitting by the fire, with our dog. We’d love to come back again!!

We loved this beautiful property. The accommodation was designed very carefully and was very comfortable, well-equipped with everything needed for an incredibly relaxing stay. We enjoyed long, family meals and games around the big kitchen table and relaxing evenings enjoying the stove. The views from the house are wonderful and constantly change with the weather. The location makes this house very unique and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area. This Is The House To Get Away From It All .
Second time staying at this house. We love it, so spacious clean and so comfortable. Lots of light Everything you need to stay. The house is in a beautiful location, peaceful and tranquil and the views of Skye spectacular. In easy walking distance to visit Glenelg Inn, which serves delicious food .drink and always has a fire on. Great location to travel and see the sights. Recommend getting the Glenelg ferry an absolute must , beats the long road around every time. We will be back , to stay at this house again for sure. Love it.

On our arrival the house was clean and tidy. The house is in a beautiful location at the loch side and a short walk to the Glenelg inn.The rear of the property looks out over fields that are frequented by red deer on an evening. When we visited last year we were lucky enough to spot a pine Martin too. If you have a keen eye you could see lots of wildlife in the area such as otters, sea eagles and seals round by the ferry. Glenelg is a beautiful and peaceful , we will be back.

We really loved our two week stay at Solas. The house is perfectly located in Glenelg, within walking distance to the Inn and village shop. Gamboling lambs and noisy peacocks added to the ambiance. For excitement and spectacular views, take the friendly Glenelg Ferry, and drive to Broadford to purchase groceries. The Glenelg Inn provided us with dinner every night. We were not bored at all as the food was delicious and staff were warmly welcoming. The house itself is spacious and well stocked, even with games and DVDs to while away a rainy day, although the ever changing views from the front windows kept us diverted. Having amenities such as dishwasher, washer and dryer was much appreciated over the two weeks. Bedrooms were warm and cozy although the mattresses became a little hard on our aging bodies after two weeks. Bathrooms were modern and towel warmers much appreciated. Instructions on how to use appliances was very helpful, but there needs to be instructions for the AGA stove for non UK residents. Additionally we could have used kindling for the wood stove and a knife sharpener in the kitchen. All in all we loved Glenelg and our home at Solas and look forward to returning next year.

Week away in Glenelg
Lovely house , clean and tidy . Everything we needed was available so only had to buy food and wine 😊. Had a slight problem working the dishwasher so rang the property manager but unfortunately no answer or call back ! It wasn’t a big problem but if it had been then that wouldn’t have been ok so I gave less stars . Lovely big garden for my 2 dogs to run around free and safe from the road ( watch out for the peacocks tho lol ) We would stay again but unfortunately our backs suffered sleeping on the bed ( only a problem for us of course ) so we have to decline another visit ! Overall lovely location , views and house

Autumn watch expedition
Amazing house in an idyllic location. The photos do not do the house justice, downstairs is bigger than appears and the house exceeded our expectation. The location was ideal for our autumn watch expedition . We saw seals and red deer within the first hour, without moving 20m from the house. During our stay we saw otters playing, seals, golden eagles and stag red deer fighting, as well as lots of seabirds, including divers. We spent most of our time around Glenelg except one visit to the Isle of Skye. Our 9 year old son loved every minute there and looked forward to the daily visits from the peacocks and peahens. The only disappointing thing is the house is booked for the dates we would like in 2020, but we are not surprised. We will definitely stay there again. Thank you.

All admin was smooth and efficient. The house is easy to find once you have made it to Glenelg and is a lively place to stay. The house is clean, comfortable and a fabulous base whilst exploring the local area. It is well stocked with pots and pans, and we found all the beds comfortable. The passing wildlife - including peacocks- was an extra bonus. We would definitely recommend this house.

Lovely location, beautiful drive to get here and great house.
The property was ideal; lots of natural light and space. A well equipped kitchen for self-catering but be sure to stock up as the nearest largish supermarket is about 40mins away. There's lots of places to visit around Glenelg and the highlight was a cycle ride to the pizza night at the local brewery taking in 2 brochs and a waterfall on the way. Our meal at the Glenelg Inn was delicious and the setting was amazing. Takeaway from the Eolach food truck was very good and such a lovey, quirky set-up. Eagle spotting at the ferry cafe with a great coffee was lovely too and seeing porpoises after a visit to Sheena’s tea hut was just brilliant. Lovely week!

Very pleased with the property. Well equipped kitchen, good shower, spacious open plan lounge/kitchen/dining. Surprisingly warm. Good situation right by the beach (stony not sandy), 10 mins walk from the Glenelg Inn. The road south to Corran is a beautiful drive or cycle, a trip on the ferry and a visit to the brochs a must and plenty of walks nearby.
