Board game retreat
The Lake house was a great place for our group to spend five days playing board games and catching up. The bedrooms, bathrooms are very nice, Kitchen is well equipped, Deck, Hot Tub, Game room and living areas are all comfortable and well maintained. A great place for large groups. We would defiantly rent again.

3 Generation Christmas Gathering
This house was perfect for our 4 day gathering. The main floor had a wonderful master suite that was perfect for our elderly parents, keeping them in the middle of the main activities happening in the large, open gathering area with comfy sofas and three large dining tables for eating and game playing. The kitchen had everything we needed for all the meals we cooked while there. Crock pots, casseroles, blenders, all sizes of pots and pans and bake sheets. Two fridges held all our food, but we really loved having the two dishwashers, with plenty of plates, glasses and silverware for our crew to use. The house was clean, the beds were comfy, with extra blankets and pillows everywhere. Water pressure was great, and the tankless heater provided hot water for everyone’s showers. Three floors offered private sleeping and hiding spots with comfy couches for different age groups to gather. Good directions made this place easy to find and we had parking for all 4 vehicles close to the house. LaFollette has good grocery stores and food options, as well as good thrift store shopping. The blue tooth speakers worked well with our devices and music apps for holiday tunes and kitchen dance parties. One tiny issue with one TV was fixed promptly by our responsive host. Everybody was very happy with our stay, we would be happy to stay here again. I can only imagine the extra fun a summer stay would offer with the water right out back.

Great time had by all!
This was our first time at Norris Lake, but it will not be our last—we’re hooked! This house had plenty of space for our group of 18 to be together when we wanted to or spread out when we wanted to… The kitchen had plenty of room for everyone to have a chair (not always the case with large house groups), and the 2 fridges/dishwashers were very helpful. We loved having a dedicated ice maker too! Bedrooms were comfy and the hot tub got rave reviews. The wakeless cove and dock were perfect for all ages in our group to slide, swim, float, or kayak. Be prepared for a VERY steep driveway and lots of stairs between the house and the lake, but no problem as long as you know that going into it. Can’t wait to come back!

Family Reunion 2023
Great large lake home! We rented a boat and Jet ski for our stay. Everyone enjoyed the water, dock, decks, kayaks and rafts. This was our family reunion which ranged from 72 to 12 years of age. Us older folks would get on the boat at one of the marinas so we didn’t have to do the steps down. Also….don’t let the driveway scare you…..go slow down and low gear up…..we never had an issue. Would certainly return!

Family Reunion
We booked this house to accommodate our family reunion. We had 25 individuals ranging from ages 12-76. It slept 25 comfortably. We did have 3 adults around 75 years old that had difficulty doing the stairs, but we knew there were lots of stairs going in. However, a plus is that the decks are on each level and you can see the dock from those decks. They were at least able to join and watch from afar. The house had ample supplies for cooking and eating and we utilized their plates in order to cut down on paper. The location was awesome, in a more private cove away from boat traffic which meant we floated freely on the lake without having to worry about boats. We utilized their kayaks and floats that were there. We loved the gaming tables and the hot tub! A couple of concerns. Some of the beds were squeaky, but not a major deal breaker. When we used the fire pit we did notice a sewer smell, but the pit is over the septic tanks I believe, not sure if that can be remedied, just something we noticed. Also the dock gets very hot! It would be nice to have a runner of some sort to step on when you are coming up from the water and on the top side or I guess you should wear water shoes, just be prepared for that. Not sure on TN trash, but would have loved to been able to recycle and maybe a place for broke down boxes rather than having to bag it. Overall we loved the place, the location and had a great time. I would highly recommend and we would book this place again!

Southern Comfort II is a dream house on the lake!!
We had 13 Adults and 5 children and this house gave us plenty of room to spread out! It truly was a dream vacation!! My family loved every minute of it. The owners are very responsive too!! The kitchen has an ice maker, 2 ovens and 2 dish washers which made it easy to prepare meals and clean up. We made some awesome memories that we will never forget! Thank you John & Ali for sharing your home!!!!

Christmas at Southern comfort II
We have a large blended family and celebrate Christmas early December! We walked in to the surprise of a Christmas tree that was so thoughtful and we really appreciated it!!! The kitchen was stocked better than any we have ever been in! The property manager was awesome and when the fireplace would not turn on she brought in someone to fix it immediately. It was a fabulous weekend in a perfect home!

Christmas Adventure
Our family rents a cabin every year to celebrate Christmas together. This cabin offered plenty of space. The warm gas logs were a plus! We also enjoyed the hot tub which was very clean! We were pleasantly surprised at how well stocked the kitchen was! The knives were even sharp! Thank you also for the Christmas tree and decorations!

Annual family getaway
This place was all that! We've taken an annual family fall trip for close to 40 years straight. This is our 2nd time to Norris Lake (previously stayed in the Pigeon Forge area). Norris Lake location is closer, quieter and has more housing options. Our group includes our 89yo mom, 7 children and spouses. The accommodations here were perfect for our group. The guys said the hot tub was THE BEST yet. Also, loved having two large ice makers! Kitchen was perfect for our large group. Better than our Norris Lake cabin last year because there was no gravel road and large grocery store much closer!

Family Reunion
Great space for family reunion & large enough for everyone to have their own space. Enjoyed time on the boat, using the provided kayak, & jumping off the sun deck & slide into beautiful Norris Lake! Large well-stocked kitchen & great to have 2 ovens, 2 dishwashers, 3 refrigerators & 2 ice machines! I would kindly like to suggest that the owners replace all bath towels (ones provided had stains, frayed, & holes), bed sheets that fit mattresses properly, & shower curtains (moldy on bottom). Majority of mattresses were extremely noisy & every time you moved you could hear the springs squeaking. Regarding the non-suite king bedroom without a closet on the main floor, add some wall/door hooks and/or shelves as there was no where to hang anything at all. I would suggest adding some hand rails in the main king suite bathroom so then at least one bathroom in the house would be handicapped accessible. Our 85 year old mom used this main floor bedroom but had a difficult time in the bathroom without any type of hand rails for support. Lastly, the AC needs to be checked. The main floor was always so extremely hot even if we tried to adjust the temperature. Meanwhile the middle & especially the lower floor were freezing cold. Aside from those suggestions we had a great family reunion. The home owners were also available via email or text which was appreciated.

Hi Beth, thank you for the feedback, next time please let us know during your stay so we can fix any issues immediately! The shower curtains were all replaced by me in August, we will check them again. We have a closet full of brand new towels onsite and will replace any that look worn. Also, there are 2 separate thermostats for the 3 floors, you may have been using the wrong one. Finally, we have a mix of memory foam and traditional mattresses, will check them for squeaks! Thanks!

Our family consisted of: 2 grandparents = 80+ (only stayed a few days) 2 people 55 + 5 people 30 + 2 - 11 year old's 2 - 5-year old's 3 - 2-year old's The dock and slide are amazing, and the lake is beautiful! Unfortunately, you have a minimum of 40+ steps to get to the dock. The pictures in the listing do not show this. The first two steps are not the standard step height, and many of us almost fell. They added an extra riser to the first step, which is still a long drop. Kids certainly cannot go up on down on their own. The deck was pulling away from the house. Most railings didn't have a middle rail, and we feared they would fall through. There are no handrails to get into the house, which poses a problem for older people. The property was not clean. The mattress pad in the master bedroom had a fresh pee stain. I did contact the owner, and they apologized their regular cleaner fell; I assume they used a new cleaner. They sent a text on Wednesday to say they had a new mattress pad, but I declined; I had already put a towel under the sheet, and we only had a few days left on our rental. The jets in the hot tub did not work and weren't clean. The vents in the house were all extremely dirty. One dryer didn't completely dry the clothes. Large crack on bottom level floor. Overall for the amount of money we spent we were highly disappointed.

This is obviously unfair and inaccurate as we book over 200 nights per year and 80% of our guests are families with young children. Between my 2 booking platforms I have 100+ 5 Star reviews. A guest’s threat of negative reviews in an effort to get a refund is becoming more and more prominent on VRBO. Only one concern was brought to our attention during the stay and a remedy was offered but declined so we are not even sure if it was true as no pictures or evidence were provided. The house was clean, the only cleaning concern documented were our air vents and filters. Our hot tub is brand new, delivered in Aug 2022 and works fine, we have a hot tub repairman on call when we are contacted about issues. Libelous reviews with unsubstantiated safety concerns are reckless and fraudulent. Any issues brought forward are remedied immediately, this guest waited until after check out and failed to provide anything specific enough that would enable us to discover and fix an alleged safety issue. Please ignore this inaccurate review and instead read the other reviews to get a true description of this vacation rental. Guests like this make hosting on VRBO much more frustrating and challenging than it should be, this property wouldn’t book up a year in advance if it actually was as this review describes.

Owner and property manager were both very responsive. A guest forgot a bag of valuables and the issue was handled quickly with the bag being overnighted home to her. This was our first lake vacation and the dock was large enough to handle all the watercraft we brought. Our group enjoyed the jumping bridge, the rope swings, and the marinas. Everything is conveniently located. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and the grill was large enough to cook for our entire group, it included a flattop. Thank you for sharing your home.

Outstanding Family trip
Everything about it was easy and wonderful. The owners are quick to respond to questions and other matters. The house is beautiful inside and out and in a great location. Plenty of room for our family to gather and had lots of fun on the outside deck, game room and around the outdoor fire pit. Overall a pleasant stay
Thanks to John & Ali for renting us the Cabin, it's a wonderful house to stay with Family & Friends. Kids enjoyed the stay and used most of the amenities in the House... Hot Tub, Pool table, TV's, Firepit, Grill, etc., House is so huge with 9 bedrooms & bathroom, 3 Dishwasher, 3 Refrigerator, 2 Washer/Dryer, etc... in less than 20 mins drive there is all the shopping center Walmart, Food line, Gas stations, etc... John responds to messages and emails pretty quickly and he also allowed us to do late check-out (till 1 PM)) will stay rent again from John if I get a chance again.

My thoughts.
Loved our trip. The only complaints I have is, some bedrooms had no lights overhead and the bathtubs need bars or no slip pads in them. My Aunt slipped and fell in her bathtub and hurt her side. Also our hot tub apparently didn't work and they had to empty the water and refill it which caused the water to not be warm enough for us to get in it. Definitely appreciate letting us check in a couple hours early though that helped us so much. Will recommend. Thank you.

Great getaway for a large family!
We totally enjoyed this house and its facilities! With 20 family members, there were plenty of beds, bathrooms, refrigerators, and stoves for our needs. The kids enjoyed the water, slide, swimming, kayaks, and loved the hot tub and its warmth. The Oasis Marina is very responsive to requests for boats, jet skiis, etc. and I highly recommend them. We had a lot of problem with the person/company recommended by the home owners and received a boat that only worked for one day and was not fixed when they said it would be. As far as the house, there were 2 things that concerned us: the many stairs to the dock without spindles (had 2 2-year-olds) and the worry of kids going up and down the steps and the slant of the decks due to the settling of the foundation. Otherwise, the house and vacation was wonderful!

We always recommend Oasis Watersports first for boat rentals in our guest information email and only offer alternatives when requested by our guests. Also, one of the deck posts did settle a few inches and thank you for letting us know about the missing spindle, we will have that replaced right away.

Great Vacation
We have rented Southern Comfort in the past and as always, it was a great vacation. There were 20 adults from the younger crowd to the elders. The younger crowd took over the bottom floor and the older generation had the second and main level. Plenty of seating for dining, either inside or out on the deck. The cove is quiet; however, it takes about eight minutes to get out to open water. Highly recommend for a great family/friend get together.

Worth it!
Clean and very accommodating! Object of our stay was a reunion with our large family. This facility comfortably accommodated us all. The house is basically on the side of a mountain, lol, so getting to and from with your vehicles seems a little hairy at first, but as the week progresses, the hill gets smaller and smaller. House had everything as far as linens, kitchen utensils, and other amenities to have a very pleasant and fun stay!

The home has everything you could ask for and then some! I have never stayed at a home in Norris that was this well equipped to handle a large group of people. We stayed here for a work retreat and let me just tell you it was perfect. I won't take time to say much EXCEPT I have rented many places and the thing that will keep us returning to this location is the kitchen...fully stocked with what you will need to take care of cooking for a large crowd and double fridges, double dishwashers and double ovens was INCREDIBLE. The upstairs and middle floor of this place were really nice. We were there at a time for fall colors, which were beautiful. The top floor had a giant kitchen, and plenty of seating space. The outdoor area was really nice, and the grill was huge. However, at night, the bottom floor space got down to really below acceptable temperatures. We looked for a thermostat all over the bottom floor, and couldn't find one. We looked and only saw two units outside the house. The folks in our party on the upper two floors had a fine time, but I ended up leaving at midnight on the last night to go back home rather than sleep in a room that was 50 degrees.
