We love the Maui Kai however, unit 507 was a disappointment. Upon checking in we discovered that the doors to the lanai would not open. There was a sticker on the door stating "Do not open, door under repair." This was hard to believe upon our arrival. The studio was not thoroughly cleaned, stained bedskirt, stained draperies that were difficult to open and close, dirty floor (that we had to mop ourselves), shabby furnishings, under supplied kitchenware (coffee cups, wine glassses, short glasses, dull knives), broken coffee maker, and a mishmash of dinnerware. The shower had a cheap plastic shower curtain liner instead of a glass door as pictured on the website. Management did respond quickly to repair the lanai doors the next day (necessitating us to vacate the unit during the repair time of 4 hours), supplied a new coffee maker as well as needed glassware, and offered a compensation of 8% for these inconveniences. This unit could be greatly improved with a thorough deep clean, new glass shower door, and freshening of the furnishings. Otherwise, we would return to the Maui Kai and do not wish this review to reflect poorly on the property as a whole. We hope this review helps assist you in future management operations.
