We were a group of 6 plus occasionally others visiting but staying / living in Pembroke nearby. Family gathering from across the country for a father/grandfather's memorial.
When we arrived there was no running water caused by a fault in a new flood detection system installed to shut off water in case pipes burst. This issue was known to the owner but we were not informed. It took well over an hour with two of us troubleshooting the issue, and some helpful texts from the owner, to get water flowing again. Ultimately it was my nephew who figured out how to override the system.
The deck, mentioned by previous guests, is in dire need of major repair. Patches are keeping it usable but it needs a full rebuild very soon. Having the upstairs loft master bedroom walled in would be nice too for additional privacy and quiet if some guests want to go to bed earlier in the evening or sleep in
For the most though, the place was as advertised. Clean, comfortable, great location on the River. But for the price, a more trouble-free stay was expected. Running water is definitely expected.
