"The cottage was really well laid out and furnished to a high standard. The beds were amazingly comfortable and our daughter loved the facemask selection. The welcome hamper was greatly appreciated too. A lovely place to unwind and not need a car to get about. "

"My stay was lovely and peaceful, after my working day had finished. (It was not a holiday break) unfortunately. The surroundings were fantastic, I felt really chilled after work.
Would definitely stay again."

"You can clearly see that the Orwell Hotel was in its day a grand building and even though there has been some refurbishment in the downstairs area of the hotel, the rooms are looking very tired.
Instead of spending the money on a massive, life size elephant out the front of the hotel (yes really) they should be spending the money on updating the showers, toilet roll holders, painting the window frames etc etc.
The bed was comfortable which is always good and the tv in my room was basic but usable.
Sound proofing could be better as I had one night of disturbance from a neighbouring room.
The biggest problem is that the management are not responsive.
I had to raise a complaint about someone ( presumably a random hotel guest ) accessing the lobby desk telephone system and calling my room 2 times at 2:00 in the morning as a prank caller.
I have since emailed the managers 2 times and still have had no response after 5 days.
Needless to say my experience has not been overly positive. A real shame.😳 "
"Staff we had to move rooms after one night because the heating didn’t work and the shower was intermittent with hot water
The staff were excellent on moving us"
"Pretty much everything about our trip was on point and we couldn't have asked for better.
From arriving and being greeted by the kind and friendly receptionist, to the drinks station of iced water or hot drinks (including a doggy station with water and treats!)as you walk in,to the amazing suite that I booked.
Room 33, what a room!
Very spacious and accommodating for everyone's needs. The room had a big built-in wardrobe housing an iron and ironing board, a small safe, a big desk with the kettle and coffee machine and a mini fridge with complimentary drinks/snacks in underneath, 2 x tvs, large spacious main bed, double sofa bed and a single bed, along with an armchair and a table with two chairs to sit at. Far better than the room we'd stayed in the week previous and had paid more for (but it was London, so expected I guess!) The mini gym was a lovely addition and well thpught out. "
"Very satisfied with the hotel, clean room and well equipped. The staff were very helpful and friendly. A very relaxing and comfortable environment, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and look forward to a return visit."
"Just had our second stay here and looking forward to our next one.
Room was very clean and comfortable and lovely and warm.
Big super king bed and very comfortable.
It's handy having the Bar and Restaurant on the same property if you don't feel like going far....we had a nice meal there and the young Bar Man there was just brilliant, could not have been more helpful and caring.
Tea/Coffee/Biscuits replenished each day.
Breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice.
All the staff were extremely pleasant and friendly. Plenty of parking available.
A very well equipped gym available free of charge.
All in all a very pleasant stay.
Thankyou 🌟"
"Bar and Dining Room attractive, food good, staff (mostly) helpful.
Room, in adjacent development, awful: accessed only via steep, external flight of open stairs.
No offer to assist elderly customers, ( Blue Badge holder), with luggage in poor weather.
Small and cramped accommodation. Velux-style skylight in sloping roof with no other windows or view out."
