L’accueil de Claudine fut très chaleureux et tonique. Elle me reçue dans sa maison de ville où elle loue 2 chambres. La mienne était spacieuse, salle de douche récemment rénovée, wc séparé. Propreté impeccable. Au plein coeur de la ville, pas un bruit. Elle m’a conseillé un restaurant juste à côté tout à fait bien et le lendemain matin l’ai pu, ainsi que l’autre locataire, prendre le petit déjeuner sur la terrasse……
“We were driving from the UK to the south west of France and wanted somewhere to stay en route. What a wonderful surprise this place was. The house is a big, beautiful, old (really old!) property with very generous rooms and lovely ensuite bathrooms. The hosts are very welcoming and generous. Saintes - who knows why that big town is not more widely known as a tourist destination. Incredible architecture, lovely river walks, greta places to eat.
And the best bit - we have 2 large excitable dogs……
