Great house!

Clean and pretty historic house! Washer and dryer, dish washer, all you need!! Very close to beach and the shoppes of Lewes! Great area to walk your dog and it feels really safe at night! Will stay again!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Historic home blocks from the main shops and eats in Lewes. Comfortable for a small family with a lovely screened porch. Very well maintained with many historic details but modern amenities (tv, WD, DW). Checking in and out was fairly simple, company had lots of info about the area.

Not a place for two-year-olds

This two-level house is an 18th Century Methodist meeting house, meticulously restored and full of period furnishings. It has modern appliances and was quite comfortable. The property is managed by PenFed Realty in Lewes, and they can give you more details. It's really not a beach house, but the beaches are nearby, as are restaurants and a great ice cream shop.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property is in the very heart of Lewes and had been meticulously restored. Staying there does put the burden of cleaning on the renter as before departure you are not only asked to do the dishes but also to vacuum the place. Also, paying an extra $450 for the privilege of bringing two dachshunds with us for three days was a bit of an overkill.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a nicely appointed house very close to downtown. We were allowed (for a fee) to have our two dogs with us. It was a good space for the 4 of us. The second bedroom, which we didn’t use) is quite small. But the living space and second floor bedroom are very spacious! The kitchen and two bathrooms are adequate. There’s also a nice screened porch. (We would have used it more. But it was a bit too hot to be out there without the ceiling fan running. But it had only a high speed that was too much! We highly recommend this property.

Lots of period touches. Also, The location is fabulous. Walk to downtown and restaurants. It was great for our needs... a couple with 8 yr old grandchild visiting for few days. One car off street parking was nice too.The property is as described and it was very clean. That said, we loved it , but if you are looking for large cooking kitchen, outdoor showers, etc this probably wouldn’t suit your needs.

Everything was exactly what we were looking for from the location to the house! We absolutely loved the convenience of being right around the corner from the restaurants, fun running routes from the house, and biking down to Cape Henlopen. The beach was a quick walk too.

This is the perfect location in Lewes! Restaurants and shops around the corner. 15 minute walk to the beach. We would love to stay here again.

Amazing historic property

We loved staying here. Location is amazing, right next to the historic downtown. Even nicer than the photos capture. This home is a registered historic site and has so much character with modern conveniences. We enjoyed the spacious living room and the screened in back patio area. Didn’t love renting sheets and having to get the key at another location but this seems to be typical of rentals in this area.

Just WOW!!

This historic property is perfectly located in downtown area with shopping, restaurants all within walking distance. The inside of the property does not look like a rental! Lots of antiques, which fits the home perfectly. Property has two full baths. One bedroom on main level - single bed - and king bed in the upstairs bedroom. There is one parking space off the street which is wonderful. Property is air conditioned. We loved it and would definitely book again.

An Interesting Experience

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cost of staying in Lewes for three nights was much too high, in our opinion. We had to pay for cleaning, for a place that had dust and cobwebs. It was like staying in a museum. Some people may like that. It's a historic property, very interesting. Had a weird smell that clung to our belongings and we had to wash everything when we got home. Lewes is a lovely town but I did not care for this property. For the amount of money we spent, we expected something much different. It was also quite dark inside, unless you turned on the overhead lights. We felt discouraged from moving lamps around to read.
