Restored 1840 House with Gardens in Historic Downtown

  • Just blocks from Washington & Lee University and Virginia Military Institute, historic Middleton House offers privacy and seclusion in the heart of picturesque downtown Lexington. This handsome residence, with extensive fenced gardens, combines period taste--including antiques, art, and original c.1840 colors--with modern comfort. A sunny sitting room, generous dining room, and eat-in kitchen overlooking the garden provide an ideal setting for relaxing and entertaining. Bedrooms have excellent mattresses, high-quality linens, and their own bathrooms.

Without getting in a car, guests enjoy cooking locally grown foods from the Lexington Farmer's Market down the street, shopping in Lexington's vibrant downtown, walking the beautiful Woods Creek Trail nearby, and lounging on the wide screened porch. Middleton House is the perfect place for a get-away vacation, a party, a wedding reception, or a reunion. For comments from the Middleton House guestbook, please see our posted reviews.
