This is perfectly situated in the charming old part of Lille, so that for example we had a lovely view over the main street and were close to lots of restaurants and bars (which on Saturday night seemed to be crowded mainly with people from Lille rather than tourists). We were greeted in a very friendly fashion at Reception when we arrived which always helps. The hotel is very nicely furnished in quite a cool old-fashioned way. Our room was not large but it was spacious enough and the bed very comfortable. All in all, if you want a really quite classy if modest place to stay in the old town, this really is ideal.

Très joli petit hôtel idéalement situé en ultra centre dans le vieux Lille à deux pas d’un parking souterrain. Les chambres sont petites mais confortables et joliment décorées. Un bon rapport qualité prix pour découvrir la ville ou séjourner pour le travail. Personnel très aimable et serviable. Plutôt une chambre sur cour car le quartier peut être animé l’été.

Easy, friendly check in, was shown to the lift and told which way to go. Room was in the French style, on the 5th floor, with reduced height ceiling between the dormers, but which did not interfere with circulation. All the windows could be opened, and had permanent fly screening. Comfortable bed. Nice big en-suite bathroom. Espresso coffee machine, WiFi & TV. I declined housekeeping, and did not try the food as I was visiting family. There is a 24/7 grocery across the street, and various shops close by

Beware, rude treatment at this hotel

I had booked a deluxe double room with a city view. When I arrived that afternoon, the reception clerk was extremely abrupt and rude to me, for seemingly no reason except he appeared overworked. He walked me to my room on the rear of the main entry level. The only window in the room overlooked and was on the same level as the patio of the next brasserie. Clearly not a city view. I went back to the clerk and calmly said that this was the deluxe room with a city view that I had reserved. He said they were fully booked and that was only room available. I calmly stated again that it was not what I reserved. He found a room on the next floor up. It faced an interior courtyard and was smaller, very tight. I decided it was useless trying to argue with him. I left for the afternoon Realizing I would get nowhere with him. When I returned, he was checking a large our group. So certainly there was a room he could given me before they arrived. But it was more his officious attitude toward me that most disturbing. He should have apologized for the lack of the room that I had reserved and offered some type of compensation - a free breakfast, etc. Nothing. The clerk the next day was the opposite - kind and friendly. I would be careful when booking here. You may not get the room you reserved, and you may treated rudely by their staff.

Très belle chambre, mais mansardée ce qui fait qu'il fait chaud en été et l'on ne peut pas dormir la fenêtre ouverte car un restaurant est dessous et très bruyant même apres 00h30. En hivers ce doit être parfait. Le ventilateur de plafond est bienvenu. Le petit déjeuner à 14€ est très bon et diversifié. Personnel agréable.
