Great place
did a 3 night stay and it was really nice. not far from a food lion and abc store. it was clean and peaceful. Had a lot of fun. The place is big and fit 6 adults easy. The screened in porch was nice. The neighbors to the right of the house were very odd. Over all we would come back to stay again.

Tastefully decorated and clean. Screen room adorable....a broom to sweep out bugs would be nice. we had an enjoyable lunch out there. We played corn hole in back yard and sat on your dock with wine, enjoying the fall foliage. Relaxing time with good friends.

Perfect for us
The layout was more spacious than expected. Each bedroom having its own full bathroom plus a half bath in the hall was very convenient. The unfinished basement/ game room was great space for the young adults to hang out. The kayaks and paddle board was a super bonus for exploring the lake. The listing does not say so but there is a community boat ramp that is also very convenient if you bring your own boat. The cove is not very deep but was very quiet and private during our stay. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Lovely, peaceful and well-equipped property
My family thoroughly enjoyed our time at Simply Irresistible! The home is beautiful, clean and very well equipped. We especially loved the kayaks, ping pong table and other games.

Simply Irresistible or Simply Irritable?
Our stay can be summarized in the list of 30+ items needing attention at this property that I sent to the property manager. Many focus on the lack of cleanliness of the sunporch, lower level, and other areas of the home, worn and stained carpets and furniture cushions, and a number of items needing basic maintenance. These include but are not limited to a screen porch door that is broken, a stair railing that needs its handrail repaired, pathway to the dock that is missing pavers and is uneven, and a useless and hazardous gas grill (to the property manager's credit and Ryan the delivery person, this was replaced within a few hours of communicating the issue of the grill.) What is surprising is that in viewing the guestbook, the comments about the previous owners (2018), reviews were very complimentary and indicated that ownership appreciated their guests and provided additional amenities. That was not the case in reviewing the comments since the change in ownership in 2018 (a number of reviews support many of the items listed above as issues with Simply Irresistible.) The quandary is that the home and what it includes (3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, recreation equipment, well equipped kitchen, location) is actually quite appealing but its lack of attention to basic details of cleanliness and maintenance is frankly a disrespect to its guests for the $ being charged. I can honestly say that this particular property has been the least desirable of all that we have contracted through our entire time utilizing VRBO.

the AC was not on when we arrived. there was a noxious mothball mold smell there was NO propane for the grill no bathmats 2 towels per bedroom the location is great....so many things need to be address. although we reached out over the emergency number we never heard from Lake Gaston Rentals.

Hello Alice, We are sorry to hear of your poor experience. We always strive to ensure that our guests have the best possible stay and hate that this was not the case for you. Although, I do not doubt there may have been issues with your stay, I would like to address the comment you made about the towels. We state on the property listing page, in our rental agreement, and in the arrival information email sent to your one week prior to your stay, the linens that are included in your stay. As stated in these areas there is one towel and washcloth per person the house sleeps. In this case that would be 10 of each. All of which were accounted for upon deliver and collection for your stay. Again, we are very sorry to hear of the issues with your stay. We do hope you will consider coming again so we can provide you with the 5 star experience that we know this property offers.

Close enough to reach our destination in 35 minutes .. to begin vacation sooner due to less driving

Great house but needs tlc
The porch and house in general are great. The setup is convenient. The use of the kayaks was wonderful. The view of the water is relaxing and feels private. The property needs tlc and cleaning. There are a lot of lightbulbs out. Multiple fans don’t work. The tables and bathrooms all needed to be wiped down. The porch is great but needs a power washing. Really dirty. A lot of spiders. The master bathroom shower drains really slowly. You are standing in multiple inches of water while showering. The basement is unusable due to the mildew smell. Dining room chandelier are a dead bug haven. The pendants have cobwebs. Floorboards are all dirty. In general, your cleaning company is not doing anything. The extension cord for the heater on the porch gets very hot. You may have a fire hazard with that.

Fun Labor Day weekend
House is very clean and has a ton of space. The owners have it stocked with plenty of things to keep you busy all weekend including kayaks, tether ball, corn hole, video games etc. The dock is very nice and the water is a about 4ft deep so docking a pwc or boat is not a problem. We enjoyed are trip and would definitely stay here again!

Fun for all!
We are a family of four with two college-aged students. It was a perfect place for all of us to enjoy. We ate our meals on the screened porch. Some weather came in, and we were happy to enjoy the ping pong table. There were so many indoor options for rainy days. When the weather was nice, we enjoyed the kayaks. The whole place was so nicely stocked with cooking items, linens, movies, books, etc. We rented a boat, and we would have been able to tie our boat, but not to use the covered boat slip. I would definitely return to this home. The owners certainly have thought through what would make it nice for their guests.

Nice vacation home
We rented this cute cottage for our family vacation. It had everything we needed for our party of 8. The children, (all girls) ages 12-7, LOVED the bunk room! We had a great time trying paddle boarding for the first time. My daughter was a natural. The fully stocked kitchen was helpful during this staycation as we cooked a lot of meals here due to coronavirus. It was nice every convenience, such as a Keurig and dish washer. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful property. We have made a lot of beautiful memories on this trip. We plan on renting this property again.

Peace and Quiet lives here
The 3 bedrooms each having their own full bath was perfect for our group. The yard and cove were beautiful and there were plenty toys to play with. There were some amenities I like when traveling that weren't included (blow dryer, bath mats) but we quickly adjusted. Kitchen had all the things we needed to prepare meals at home throughout the week, though we did miss having an ice-maker. Overall it's a beautiful home in a great location and we would stay here again.

Les & Bonnie couldn’t have been more helpful, Thank you!! The property was beautiful, very clean, well-stocked, & many amenities to offer guests (kayaks, paddle board, floats, beautiful dock). Family weekend getaway
When renting a home you always expect the essentials but this property has so much more. It’s clear the owners love their home and for guests to enjoy it. It’s clean comfortable and has lots of special touches down for the soaps and shampoos. I wish we could have stayed longer because the property offers so much recreation with kayaks and ping pong to movies and games! While our party of 6 teenage boys enjoyed the lake, hammock and tether ball, Mom enjoyed the screenporch. The linens are soft like home and the beds comfortable was well. There was plenty of room for relaxing and entertainment with our party of 8. I highly recommend this property and we will look for another opportunity to stay again. Rating lower on the location just because the lake is shallow at the dock so you must be aware when boating into the creek. Love love love this trip!

Amazing!
My family and I had a an amazing time at the lake house. The home was clean and much more modernized than expected. The lake is serene and breath taking. I was able to practice my morning yoga on the deck. The environment was tranquil. Stores were a reasonable distance away. The grill and oven were clean and ready to use. Having a washer and dryer was a great help. I look forward to coming back.

We had a very relaxing time. Everything was fantastic. Place had anything you needed and then some. Great location. We caught catfish everyday, well over 20 lbs for the week. Communication with Les was great, had answers for the ready. We would defintely consider coming back.

Family Fun
We had an amazing time during our stay! The house was clean and well kept. It is well furnished with all of the amenities of home and a fully stocked kitchen. The kayaks and paddle board were a great addition which our entire family enjoyed. The ping pong table and other games provided plenty of entertainment. We enjoyed the screened in porch in the mornings and evenings. The location is peaceful and yet so close to the deeper water where we enjoyed tubing and wake boarding. Beyond Expectations
This house was perfect! Very clean, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and living room seating, lovely outdoor porch with string lights. This house had it all. The crash pad area down stairs was so fun! Plenty of floats, kayaks, and a paddle board. We had a blast! We were a group of women and felt very safe at this location. Quiet neighborhood but each house had plenty of space so we felt comfortable playing some music while hanging out. Close to the Grocery Store and other restaurants just a few miles away. We want to plan a trip to come back for a week, as we only stayed for the weekend this trip. So thankful for this find!!! Thank you!!

Excellent Place with Great Amenities
Great house as advertised and owners (Les and Bonnie) are quick to respond to questions. We had 9 people (ages 12-70) and there was plenty of space. Great kayaks, paddle board, various floats as well as things to do inside (board games, ping pong, darts, movies). Great location. Quiet and peaceful yet 5 mins to Food Lion, restaurants, ice cream, shops. Wish we would have rented a boat to explore the lake more, but will do that next time. We had an excellent time and look forward to returning!

Great house with a lot of supplies
Whole extended family had a great stay at this property. The house and property are just as pictured and described: clean, updated, and with plenty of supplies and things to do. House has open concept and numerous hang out areas. Enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board on the protected cove. Cove is protected from main lake but only way to access on a boat is through a tunnel that can be quite interesting to get through with a pontoon boat if not used to it.
