We had to change rooms as first room we were given had an additional single bed, the double bed was 2 singles connected together on a larger base and there were no bedside tables, the room we were moved to was much better although smaller

Good hotel near city centre.
The room was clean average size. The wifi was said to be fast, but when I used an app on my phone to test it, I only got a speed of 4.88Mb/sec, which is slow but sufficient for most uses. I use this place as my go to hotel for when I attend concerts at the Philharmonic Hall, which is just 5 minutes away. Breakfast is self service, with a good range of selections, and is optional, as the city centre is a short walk away.

A series of unfortunate events!
Only one member of staff on reception so was having to queue for a while at check in or when requesting a taxi. Hotel (half the street) had a power cut from 10pm til 2.30am. No emergency lighting in my room. Had to sit in the bar, which was freezing. Hotel offered no compensation for this. Upon arrival we were informed that the car park was full and spent half an hour trying to pay for on street parking, which offers a max of 2 hrs. When we got in the room we saw the car park had two spaces which were blocked by other inconsiderate hotel guests. The room was lovely, although we requested a twin and was given a double. Didnt stay for breakfast due to the parking situation. A very rare best friend getaway soured by a series of unfortunate events.

After a 12-hour flight and then a 2-hour train journey, I arrived at the hotel only to be told that they didn’t have a room for me as they were undergoing renovation of their property. They told me to go to another hotel where they had made arrangements for me. So this review is not really about this property as I had to move to another property. The Disapponted rating is for the uncaring attitude shown by the hotel in not informing me in advance given that I had done the booking months earlier.

Bed was really comfy. Lovely old building with tall ceilings and sash windows. Would be nice to have a blind in the bathroom as felt quite exposed in shower with light on facing large frosted window, only a minor issue. Hotel in perfect location to walk to LIPA and town centre so car can be left in hotel carpark.

Booked a twin room received a double. Luckily there was a spare room available. Unusually narrow corridors. Very stuffy. Reception staff polite professional and helpful. One lady serving at breakfast was completely unhelpful when I asked for a vegetarian option. Good location for university but expensive for what you get.

Bumped from room at last minute due to supposed plumbing leak at more central Hallmark hotel. Strange that when I popped into other hotel, no sign of plumbing or building works. Cabbie said this happens all the time.

Vert clean, great service, good location
Clean and good service from all workers. Bed and pillows werent most comfortable but good enough for a night or 2. Good location, walking distance from everywhere needed and good walking distance from lime street train station just a 5 minute walk. Staff were extremely helpful.

Just before this trip I threw out my back but I had not thought about what that might mean. There is a portion of this hotel that is a walk up, which is where I was to stay. The hotel was full and I could not be moved. Luckily for me the woman at the concierge desk found someone to bring my bags up for me and when I left the gentleman who processed my checkout also brought my bags down for me. The room was comfortable, though it is small. There's room for the bed, one nightstand on one side, a wardrobe, a desk and chair. One side of the bed was pushed up against one of the walls. The bathroom could use a little updating, one of my tiles was loose but didn't cause me any grief. The location is good, walkable down to Liverpool City Centre but I generally took a taxi back up to the hotel because it is uphill and it can get a bit steep. There was a larger breakfast available for more money. I took it one day, there were a lot of options even before the Full Breakfast arrived. Overall, it was an acceptable room for the price.
