Excellent food and drinks. Great fires! Very good service
From the moment we arrived, the welcome we received until we left, was out standing, very comfortable beds and very comfortable atmosphere Mark & Nicky and Sian were the perfect hosts the welsh breakfast was superb thank you we had a great weekend
In an area of stunning natural beauty and views, The West Arms is a delightful place to stay. Owners Nicky and Mark offer a warm welcome and take the time to learn and then address you by your name. Their attentiveness and attention to detail made for a special and memorable stay.
Wonderful hotel, wonderful location, wonderful people and wonderful food. We cannot recommend The West Arms enough. As soon as you walk in you are looked after. The food and drink is some of the best I have ever eaten and they offer the best hotel breakfast we have ever eaten.
It was very pleasant. Staff were excellent, friendly and courteous and the owners Vicky and Mark were really lovely and their 2 dogs Sam and Jasper were very cute!
The property was situated in the most beautiful location and it was the most delightful venue - interior design was very tasteful and the food, selection of drinks, staff, etc. etc. were excellent. We had spent a very busy week in North Wales, and to discover the West Arms in a hidden valley was the perfect relaxation.
Nice hotel in a lovely little village with stunning views. Unfortunately, there was torrential rain during our stay so we didn't manage to do any of the numerous walks that are available in the area. However, the hotel was cosy with real fires burning, great selection of wines, gins and beers and to top it off, fabulous food too!
The hotel looks just like the pictures and we had a perfect night away.
The reason I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the bathroom let it down. When paying prices like this I would expect a selection on individual miniature toiletries. Instead there was a dispenser attached to the wall that contained 'hair and body wash'. It is the sort of thing that is seen in budget hotels and was certainly not in keeping with the rest of the hotel and was not practical for somebody with long hair. Also, there was no bottled water in the room and neither was there a glass to get water from the tap. I used a tiny toothbrush glass and had to keep refilling it throughout the night. However, these are tiny niggles that could easily be recfied.. It has not put us off from returning to this hotel and would recommend it to anyone that's looking for a lovely country pub with great food and drink.
Beautiful gardens with fantastic views. Very good menu selection reasonable prices. Nothing is too much bother. Will definitely be going back. Great gin bar!
Excellent overall; just a couple of small quibbles. Two bath towels in a room for 3; no complimentary toiletries and no non-slip bathmat in the shower. Otherwise everything was wonderful. Thank you.
The West Arms is situated in a beautiful setting at the end of the Glen Ceiriog Valley. The drive itself is amazing and worth the effort whether you are coming from Chirk or, even better, from the direction of Llanrhaeadr. The new owners, who have been there only 10 weeks, are doing an excellent job of renovating the building. I was very well looked after during my stay, the room was well furnished and spotless, the breakfast was great and the overall ambience just wonderful. I was told the owner, 'the view from the garden is something to die for'. It is! It's the perfect place to stay to if you want to get away from it all and unwind.
Stayed for one night.
Lovely welcome, great food, good beer and a comfortable bed.
No phone signal, woohoo, but if you need it the wi-if is excellent.
Lovely quiet area.
