At check-in, I paid with my debit (which was declined as I pressed "debit" when the machine prompted me to answer); this is relevant to my check-out. I was instructed to press "credit," and the charge went through (on my end, the payment shows on my bank statement). We walk into the room, and the first thing we experience is our next-door neighbor trying to open the connecting door. Which was unsettling as I was traveling with my sister. (as two young women, we were immediately startled). I called the front desk and the matter was dealt with promptly, and we moved on since we were on a time difference and exhausted. For the first couple of days, all was well. Except for our neighbors playing music all evening, which was very uncomfortable as we wanted to get away for a quiet, relaxing time. One of the things I look for in every hotel is soundproof rooms, which the Pierside advertised. Housekeeping was standard. I returned to fresh towels and made-up beds. However, they do not remove trash, even if you leave it beside the trashcan. Our check-out was also such a hassle. They wanted me to pay AGAIN because the first time was just a hold. Since I had already called an Uber, expecting a quick C/O, I just gave them my cards and left to catch my flight. I noticed two discrepancies at first glance at my invoice, but I just wanted to get out and settle with my bank later. It was not the stay we were expecting, and unfortunately, we will be staying in other hotels around the are

It used to be a convenient location, there’s too many stores that are closed, 3rd Promenade is not even half it used to be. Everything too expensive around. Hotel renew is really nice, the restaurant looks nice but workers are a little off with the attention. Before arrival I ordered some champagne for the room and never got it. Ok place for a fast business trip.

I booked this day because my husband had back surgery 15 minutes away from the hotel. Upon our arrival, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, switching our rooms as there was a very strong odor in our first room. However, when we switched rooms and tried going to bed, The bed was so uncomfortable and my husband was in so much pain we had to leave. The staff comped our valet and didn’t charge us however we were not reimbursed for the room. We left at 10 o’clock at night and Expedia would only give us a $50 credit. With the exception of the staff being friendly, I will not be here again.

The only thing when booking this stay there was a charge of 65 dollars for valet parking which you would want to take to leave your car on property or you would have to find a parking lot

I purchased everything through Expedia. On check our day I had an extra $640 cost. They charge you a 40$ amenity fee for fitness/pool even though even best westerns have those… not to mention it ended up raining the whole time. They charge 65$ a day for valet and you cannot park in the parking lot with out paying valet. I decided it was worth it to do it until I saw the amenity fee as well post check out. I would have chosen to walk 3/4 blocks each day instead of parking but also didn’t want to leave the rental car on the street (you have to pay for parking there too. No clue how much overnight would be) lastly they charge you a $6.50 parking fee. To park in the parking lot. That you’re already paying 65$ to park in…. Again all of this would have been fine if I had known up front and would have prepared, or I would have stayed somewhere else. Very convenient location for the beach but not worth the extra 640. Again. Would have been fine if I had known ahead of time. Nice place but need to be upfront about the charges.

We recently stayed at The Pierside for three days and two nights. This hotel exceeded my expectations, as it is located less than a 10-minute walk from the Santa Monica Pier and offers a variety of food options nearby, from fast food chains like McDonald's and Subway to restaurants like RedO and Whaler. There is also a restaurant located right by the lobby. Upon arrival, our room was clean, but the bathroom was a bit small. It was manageable, but you cannot use the sink while someone is using the toilet due to the limited space. However, this wasn't a huge issue. At first, we were concerned about a loud drilling noise coming from the next room. We thought that maybe it’s from the bathroom pipes. It only lasted a few minutes, and we didn't hear it again during our stay. The staff at The Pierside were all very friendly and accommodating, with the exception of one lady who worked at the reception area during breakfast time. She didn't seem to smile much, but this didn't affect our overall experience. We dined at the Surfing Fox restaurant for dinner and breakfast twice. Our server, Sam, was fantastic and made us feel welcome. I don't recall the name of the lady who served breakfast, but she was also very pleasant. Overall, it was a great stay, but I do have two complaints. Firstly, the overnight parking fee of $65 is quite pricey. However, I appreciate the staff's honesty when they offered us the option to park somewhere else for a lower price. We ended up using a parkin

There's pros and cons at every property I guess. The day we checked in it seemed that the complimentary soaps and such weren't being filled up. We went through our entire stay trying to see if someone would refill it and nobody refilled it or asked if we needed anything. I feel as there is also false advertisement because those beds are not queen beds. They are fulls and the pillows are extremely flat and uncomfortable. The floors were also a bit dusty/dirty. The plumbing also seemed a bit strange, the bathtub leaked and the toilet wouldn't flush completely. I feel as if you are going to be paying a large amount of money to stay at this property parking should also be included or at least a more reasonable fee. $65 parking per day is very steep. Again, the overall stay wasn't terrible. Overall it wasn't terrible, there's also a lot of things that are walking distance so that is convenient. Sadly during the lateish hours/early morning there is a lot of homeless and trash outside so beware. No hate to the staff, they were very friendly but somethings do need a bit more attention to detail.

Stayed here for 3 nights, loved the decor and vibe of the room. We went to the surfing fox for happy hour and ended up staying for dinner. Food and service were both great. Location is right by the pier. Only complaint is the that $65 per day for parking was a little much.

We loved this place! My 9 year old goddaughter and I were very sad to leave. Incredible location, great room, loved the pool and the free rentals (games, surf boards, beach gear, etc).
