「The farmhouse was very clean with a spectacular view of the lake and surrounding areas. The staff was welcoming and the breakfast was wonderful. Highly recommend for a short or extended stay.」

「Incredibly beautiful castle, grounds and room. Highly advise a castle bedroom if you can! Very clean, comfortable and huge. Biggest drawback was limited dining options during the week-same menu for lunch and dinner that gets boring pretty fast. Breakfast was tasty and lots of options all included. Close to Dublin- we didn’t have a car but 45 minutes by train and then 10 minute taxi made it easy (except book taxi ahead as Athy is pretty small). Worthwhile for the luxury to stay in a castle!」

「Safe and clean. Eclectic feel. Docked Two points because the doors and walls are paperthin. Can hear everything. I also ended up in disabled room which I didn't book. Also no "reception." If you need help after hours on a holiday think again 」

「A mixed bag. Nice enough, but swimming pool and gym were very tired, and in need of a major upgrade to match the photos. Restaurant food was excellent, but staff were disorganised, but friendly.」

「I stayed at Preston House last week. Hotels.com didn't send me the details on email as was outlined in the booking. I contacted the owner who was extremely helpful and gave me an upgrade and sent on all the details straight away. The house itself is beautiful and my room was spacious and comfortable and a really lovely place to stay. The owner checked in with me to make sure I got checked in ok and again the following day to make sure I had no problems with my stay. I work in Laois multiple...

「Das Zimmer war generell sauber, allerdings mangelt es an Kleinigkeiten die aber durchaus nicht unwichtig sind. Nachttischlampen und die Fernbedienung vom Ferseher fehlten komplett. Außerdem war der Schlauch der Duschbrause undicht. Das sollte nicht nur uns als Gästen sondern auch dem Personal beim saubermachen auffallen. 」

「This is a great hotel in many ways- location, room size and decor, bathroom and it is quiet. There are no annoying little lights overhead for smoke alarms and the red tv light is hidden in the cabinet. Only 2 issues to make for an EXCELLENT review- there was no body/ hand lotion and the wifi was very very patchy. Otherwise, a great visit. 」
