First, the good stuff. My family needed a no frills place to stay while visiting family. We needed somewhere to sleep, wash, and eat. Nothing fancy. We prioritized location and in that respect the property delivered - it was very convenient for our desired location and the price was manageable. Shops were easily accessible and parking was available. The rest - the place was disgusting. Everything had a layer of visible grime on it. This extended beyond surfaces , sinks and doors. The plates, cups, glasses and cutlery had debris stuck on them. The oven handle was missing and it was necessary to grab dirty screw stubs with fingertips to open itThe gravelled back garden contained not only weeds that were taller than me but also discarded broken furniture with exposed rusty screws but also old broken Little Tikes toys containing stagnant water, old doors, an ashtray filled with cigarette butts and rain water, multiple debris items amongst the gravel, and what may have been the missing oven door handle.The bathroom door only partially latched and would swing WIDE open after a couple of minutes. I tried to secure closure with a belt but the towel ring I tried to use as an anchor fell out of the wall as soon as I touched it. To be fair, maintenance did fix the door after a few days.Check-in was challenging. The hosts (not VRBO)site said that information was missing but didn't specify. Two calls were required to access the house. There's more, but I'm out of space!
