It was only after I had gone through the booking process for what was a seriously expensive booking, a new address was provided for the property approx 1.6 miles away in Woodnesborough! I have restricted mobility and needed to be closer to the town so I asked if I could cancel....

"Winterstoke is a HUGE house with 4 massive double bedrooms and a large twin room. This does not feel like a holiday rental, it feels like a home. 10/10 Excellent

"Great room, was large with comfortable bed, quiet and with lovely views. Room also had real coffee, a fridge and AC. The only disappointment that I found strange was that the hotel bar and restaurant didn’t overlook the sea. To have a hotel turn its back on its main asset (the beachside location) was annoying. Surely would benefit from turning the ballroom into a bar or restaurant!! Staff all pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was fine, good value but nothing special"

"Great location for the centre of Canterbury and access to the cathedral, shops and green spaces. Air-conditioning in room a bit noisy, but otherwise room met our needs. Ideally a coffee machine in the room would be better and a mini-bar. What we didn't like was the fact that we had booked a continental breakfast, but you could only order one item from a menu, and coffee/juice and the buffet offered was only cereal and fruit. Not sure how this is continental as would have expected pastries/croissants, yoghurt, meats/cheeses etc."

"I prefer Hampton by Hilton to Premier Inns now and stay in them whenever possible. This one was typical of the brand. Clean, modern, well equipped with excellent friendly staff. And the included breakfast is a real bonus. Great stay. Only thing that would improve life would be a small in room fridge."

"The room was clean and reasonably decorated. The staff were welcoming and polite. The breakfast was good. There is no evening restaurant but this is not a problem as there are a large number of restaurants a short walk away. The hotel is well situated for all the towns attractions but benefits for being just off the High Street (which can be very busy). Would definitely recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to use again."

"Although you get a standard chain hotel room with no frills or extras, what sets this hotel apart are the staff. They were about as helpful as it's possible to be without going over the top. The parking is good (I have a Tesla but didn't need to use the supercharger but useful to know it's there as Eurotunnel ones can be full) although £6 for 24hrs is a bit steep for hotel guests - the full £12 would have been outrageous. The free breakfast was adequate but they need to urgently revise their scrambled egg which is almost inedible. So. 4* for the hotel but 5* for the team"
