Perfect place for explore Tuscany

Stayed there as a family and it was the perfect hub to explore the surroundings of Tuscany. Not far from Florence, Pisa and Cinque Terre - beautiful views and peaceful at night. The house itself was in superb condition and the host was responsive and helpful.

Everything we’d dreamed it would be – peace and quiet, idyllic surroundings and breathtaking views. Thank you very much for a fantastic week at Dondolino. It’s a wonderful building in a great setting. You are very lucky people to have it, and we count ourselves fortunate to have been able to make use of it. Every room was beautiful.

So much more than a home away from away from home

The description fairly describes the property and opportunities it offers but how you fall in love with this place when you visit is a very personal thing. The elements, the sounds, aromas light and feel of the air around Dondalino is unique in our experience. It's setting brings drama of sunsets and sunrises, breezes and zephyrs that keep a freshness when elsewhere the atmosphere is stuffy and the light in the gardens and around the pool and the house is very special in the low hillside air. Our hosts were brilliant and the agency helped make our month long summer stay with family very special. Definitely hope to visit again The property caters for 8 and it would be useful to be able to have enough equipment to covers two meals for everyone. It would be beneficial for the agency to offer a mid-stay clean. The owners offer incredible support to guests

We had a great stay with 6 people at Villa Donolino. The place is exactly as advertised and the communication with Elena was very pleasant. I would advise to rent a car if you want to visit some villages in the neighbourhood. The pool is nice, surroundings are quite.

The villa was great and just as described!

The villa was up in the hills, so the location was remote, but that was only a positive thing for us for more privacy. No problem to get there by car. The area and the local neighbours that we met were lovely. The weather up in the hills was a few degrees lower than e.g. in Lucca, but this was also a positive thing for us - it was warm enough to swim etc. in the middle of September. The floor plan of the villa worked nicely also for two families with kids. There was a good variety of kitchen utensils for cooking.

The House Had everything you need

We enjoyed the stay very much. The house had everything that is important for a nice vacation. Especially a lot of space, a large garden with pool, sunbeds, a large kitchen, barbecue. We have lacked nothing. The price is high but you get a lot for it. We also liked the location, you can make many trips in the area (Lucca, wineries, to the beach...). Highly recommended.

We recently stayed at Villa Donaldino and overall had a very enjoyable holiday. The villa itself was clean and spacious, with large, well-appointed bedrooms and spotless, functional bathrooms. The gardens were lovely, featuring olive trees and shaded areas perfect for relaxing, and the pool was excellent—easy to keep clean despite a few insects.However, future guests should be aware that the villa sits at the top of a very long, winding, and quite narrow road, taking around eight minutes to climb by car. A car is absolutely essential, as there are no shops or restaurants within walking distance, and every outing requires navigating this road.During our stay, there were several mornings disturbed by local neighbours using garden trimmers and other motorised tools, which we did have to complain about. The villa has a recycling system, but the lack of sufficient bin bags led to organic waste odours between collections.The outdoor dining table, although lovely, doesn’t comfortably seat eight as advertised—the positioning of the legs makes it awkward for more than six. While the bedrooms were spacious, the bedding and pillows weren’t of the highest quality. The kitchen was a particular disappointment: poorly organised and equipped with low-quality utensils and cutlery, which felt surprising given the premium price of the villa.That said, Villa Donaldino is well located for visiting Lucca, which is about a 20-minute drive away and was a highlight of our trip

Alles insgesamt sehr gut insbesondere der Zustand des Hauses und die saubere Gartenanlage mit Pool

Das Klima ist in Querce deutlich angehemer als in Pisa oder Lucca Einzig die Auffahrt zu Anlage Dondolinio ist doch sehr abenteuerlich und beschwerlich, aber dafür hat man das angenehmere Klima !

Wat een prachtig huis met zwembad en wat een mooie plek! Wij hebben met z'n zessen een heerlijke tijd gehad hier. Eten op het terras, zwemmen tot s'avonds laat in een verlicht zwembad en de auto's op eigen terrein. prachtige kamers boven en alles zo mooi verzorgd en schoon.... Kan het iedereen aanraden want het is de prijs echt waard. enige verbeterpunt kan zijn dat de bedden wat minder zijn voor een huis op dit niveau.
