Great stay, would love to return.
Lovely place to stay. Very clean room with plenty of space and comfy bed. The food in the pub was great quality and the staff were welcoming and accomodating to our four legged friend. Cosy pub with open fire.

Not great
Positives: location is great, staff is friendly, nice beer garden, chips and beer were good. Negatives: mattress was hard and uncomfortable, tiny bathroom with miniature basin, lots of noise in room, both from utilities and from people talking very early in morning. Sorry but the vegan food was frankly awful (apart from the chips).

We'll be back.
A beautiful setting and a great place to stay. We will definitely be keeping this on our list of preferred places andhope to visit again in the not too distant future. Amazing breakfast set us up for a day of Super Cars at the museum and the New forest is so beautiful at this time of hyear. Thsnks for a great night . Only wish we could have stayed longer.

Charming Inn!
Dog friendly Inn, great food, ample portions and cooked with good quality ingredients. Very homely, with friendly helpful staff. Central to villages, towns and forests. Listed building with many original features. Free roaming cattle, horses and ponies on the village green. Not 5 star luxury, but extremely comfortable, non-pretensious, and old fashioned. I thoroughly recommend either staying a few days or pop in for dinner - make sure to book.

Not a bad stay
The rooms are accessed via a separate entrance to the pub. No one from the company is on site at night, only the guests. There is a policy not to leave your children alone in the rooms, due to the lack of staff on site at night we now understand why. Only come here as a family if you're prepared to sleep in a double bed with your child! Quite noisy over the pub until closing, but you expect that. Otherwise very quiet at night. The staff were very friendly, we were lacking a couple of towels on the first night, a member of staff found a temporary replacement. The breakfast was lovely, only marred by a charge for our chosen juice (not mentioned when ordering our breakfast) which has kindly been refunded after an email to the manager. The shower room has an incredibly small basin in room 1, very tricky to scrub teeth in. I understand space constraints but it's tiny. Very hard to fill the kettle for the room. Tea etc was provided. Mattress in room 1 needs replacing as the strings pinged when we moved but the room 2 had a very comfortable mattress. All in all we were happy with our stay. Gorgeous area of the New Forest too.

Very warm welcome showed to room which was small but Ok. Lovely touch of New Forest shortbread, yummy. Dinner was amazing, lovely log fires and warm atmosphere. Breakfast was equally as good and nothing was too much trouble. There were other rooms obviously all very close together and there were some dogs barking as you walked back to your room but as I have a dog I did not feel it was an issue but if you want quiet and you don’t like dogs then it may not be for you.

Super dog friendly New Forest pub
Overall a pleasant stay. location was great and the staff were very friendly.Food was excellent, lots of choice. So dog friendly, we loved being able to take our dogs into the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Bed was too firm, but that's just me, and the sink in the bathroom was so tiny there was nowhere to put toothbrushes etc. This could be easily remedied by popping a shelf up. A larger towel rail would be good too as the towel rail was very tiny. Overall a very nice New Forest pub.

Food Glorious Food
Excellent location to travel to Southampton, just make sure you use the roundabout to get onto the M271 do not try and access from dual carriage way. Food is fantastic in the restaurant, so much choice and from the area, great setting inside cosy with two fires. The room I stayed in was the smallest room 4 but was just what I needed, double bed, small bathroom and large TV, no complaints. Might be on the tight side for two people but depends on how you get on as a couple. Fantastic walks in the area, well worth a visit, staff are excellent.

Beautiful village pub. Excellent food and optimal choices. Enjoyed one night stay. Slight issue with old fashioned spring mattress which meant every time you moved in bed it sounded like cans rattling🙄 Otherwise it was perfect

Fantastic Room
Fantastic room, very clean and larger than in the photos. Great attention to detail. Large shower and very clean overall. One of the nicest rooms I stayed in.

The Inn overall was pleasant and the staff welcoming. Good food and portions at both breakfast and in the evening were enormous! Large gardens. Room (Nr 3) small but adequate for short stay. En-suite very small and cramped. Tiny sink, no toilet roll holder, everything got wet! Nowhere to dry towels.

Watch the world go by.
Lovely place to stay if youre traveling through, the room was spacious and clean. The bed is a bit on the soft side for us. Best to remember it is a pub/restaurant and you can hear the drone of music until around 11.30. There is a separate entrance to the rooms but there is an adjoining door to go through for breakfast. Food is delicious with plenty of choice and the service excellent.

A beautiful location and fabulous stay
A really comfortable stay. A warm welcome on arrival and a lovely room with good facilities...only challenge was a mirror that could be accessed when using the hairdryer (Room 5) but this wasn't major. We booked an evening meal which was amazing - wide variety of choice and plentiful helpings which were very tasty! Breakfast had a great range of choice and my husband's patched eggs were perfect. Overall a characterful relaxed but polite place to stay...caring staff and beautiful location

We stayed here for the nights. It is fairly central in the New Forest, with ponies and donkeys roaming right outside on the green. Large, light room with a very comfortable bed. Could have done with an extra chair and storage. Didn't eat here apart from breakfasts, but they were delicious. Although the service was slow it was friendly!

Very enjoyable two night stay at the Trusty Servant. Had a large room overlooking the village green. Clean and tidy. only minor niggle was no electric point for hair dryer near the mirror. Nice and quite at night. Excellent evening meal.

Our forever pub visit.
This was the best pub stay that we have ever stayed so far. The staff were very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The room and ensuite were fantastic,so clean and roomy. Bed was comfortable, we had the best night's sleep ever. We had booked a table for the evening. The food was out of this world. The crumble was to die for. Best ever tasted. Breakfast was a struggle after the evening meal, had to down size, but as everything else it was fantastic. We have found our pub to stay, when we are in the area for ever more. Making arrangements to when we can return. So peaceful, and yet near to everything we wanted.

This was out firs visit to the new forest and it will not be our last and it will not be our last at the Trusty servant. The staff were always so polite and helpful, the location is ideal. the rooms were exactly what we needed just the right amount of space for us and our dog who was warmly welcomed as well as us by all the staff. the food was wonderful the portions were large and the quality was great. We do not normally leave reviews but felt after our experience here we just had to.
