It’s an old and tired building and the rooms are dingy and dark although clean. The car park is down a step, untarmacced hill on waste ground and is not lit in any way. It was difficult to pull my suitcase up to the hotel. It’s a rabbit warren inside the hotel lots of doors and steps up and down to different corridors. I dont think it is worth the money.

For the price, it is an excellent hotel stay. Staff polite and very helpful. The only con would be, in the heatwave we are having, having A/C or at least room fans would have been helpful. Otherwise, excellent stay.

Overall a nice property. Couple of minor niggles, there were marks on the bathroom wall and the view from the room across the back of the property could have been tidier (understand that it was a view of the back of other parts of the hotel but the walls could have been cleaner and less debris on the roof).

Excellent value for money, friendly helpful staff, lovely location in Kerridge, characterful main building, good low cost buffet breakfast. Bathrooms ready for refurbishment but low rates reflect that this is not 5* deluxe establishment.

The dining room and celebration areas are good but the rooms certainly need to be refreshed. The only good things were that the bed was big and comfortable with selection of pillows, the towels were decent and it was clean. There's no phone in the room, I had to ask for hangers, water and a non-slip mat for the bath. The bathroom door scraped the floor each time uou opened or closed it. The window frames were grotty and there were black mould marks and flaking ceiling paper over the shower. Wouldn't stay there again.

We stayed at Hollin Hose Hotel and unfortunately , the standard of the room was quite disappointing. The room felt very outdated and in need of refurbishment. The windows were extremely old and difficult to open, the bathroom door would not close properly, and the bathroom tap was loose and moved around when used. The carpet looks quite dirty and, in my opinion not ideal in the a hotel room. There was also a noticeable musty smell in both the room and corridor, with an unpleasant smell that reminded us of cigarette smoke, which made the overall experience less comfortable. The breakfast was okay, but fairly limited choice and not the standard we expected. On the positive note, the staff were really lovely, friendly and welcoming, which we really appreciated. The outside of the hotel is beautiful, with lovely surroundings and gorgeous views. Overall, the location and views are lovely, but the rooms and general condition of the hotel really need some attention and updating.
