Great getaway
This is our second time at the Balmoral Hotel. Iris and her husband are such wonderful people. Yes the building is dated and the room are not the 5 star. What this hotel gives you is comfort and a sense of home. I don't need a 5 star hotel and the building has character. Iris and her husband make you feel at home. I was really sad when we left, Barry's Bay is beautiful !! I would definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you Iris for your hospitality. See you next year :)

Loved the covered porch for breakfast and evening drinks. We were there 4 nights, and it was like a home away from home. The owner, Iris, is terrific. Our room was roomy and spotless.

Me and my wife decided to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary by visiting Madawaska Valley this Fall Season and booked a room at the Balmoral Hotel. We enjoyed our stay at this scenic and beautiful hotel. Service is excellent and you feel the warm hospitality. Looking forward to a second visit to the beautiful and majestic city of Barry's Bay.

Our Trail Ride haven
Iris is lovely and was able to accomodate us and our atvs plus gear despite the restrictions of covid. We had a great time even thought the dining room had been closed due to the pandemic. She was able to rustle up some hot coffee and delicious muffins for the breakfast, which was great for our early start. Highly recommended!

The room was clean and neat. A blue and white stripe of the quilt made us felt like at home, warm and cozy. The lady was friendly and helpful. Talking with her during breakfast time the next morning was a nice way to start the day.

A place to come back
We stayed there only one night, but it was a nice night and very calm. The place is well located and the owners are friendly and helpful. ;) We will definitely come back next time!

You get what you pay for
The price was right for the one night we stayed there but you get what you pay for. The rooms are very small and the furnishings are very old. The room was clean. It took a good five minutes before the hot water would turn on, at first my wife didn’t there was hot water. The stairs and the floor in our room were slanted I guess because of the age of the building. Could not get to sleep because of the traffic going by all night. We were in the front of the hotel. We wouldn’t stay there again. But I will say that the lady who checked us in was very nice.

The host was very nice and accomdating. Rooms were nice and clean. I like the Netflix streaming service. Hotel is right across from Żurakowski park and other small gems. Parking is on site
