We had a great stay! The room and bathroom were comfortable and clean. The location was definitely the best part—close to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Mercado de San Miguel, Gran Vía, and many restaurants and shops. The area is lively but very convenient. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We would 100% stay here again!

Great Location and Friendly Staff! Hostal Madrid is a great choice if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and centrally located place to stay. The rooms are basic, but they have everything you need, and the location right in the heart of Madrid is excellent. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and accommodating, which makes the stay even better. It's not a luxury hotel, but it doesn't pretend to be. It's a good, no-frills place to stay, and I would happily book here again!

Very good except for the room is really small. The shower is extremely small not working for people over 200 lbs.

The staff was excellent and the place was very clean and modern. I was impressed by the totally sound proof room, even though we were at the center of all the activities....and The value for the money I paid was definitely worth it! Plus, it is in the center of all activities in Madrid, right there by Plaza del Sol and all the other well known plazas. Everything is right there walking distance. This is an excellent place at a very very good price. I will stay there again!!

Very clean room. The location is very centrally located. About one block from the Sol metro station. The area is very touristy but there are lots of shops and restaurants. You can walk to the Prado, it’s about a mile but an easy walk. The walking tours we selected all stared within about 1/2 mile of the hostel. The only thing I would note is bring your own travel size shampoo and conditioner. They supply these small single use packs, about the size of a ketchup pack. You’ll get a body wash and a shampoo. As others have stated, The rooms are small and spartan but the location and price more than makes up for that.
