We enjoyed our stay at The Black Forest, despite the cold and rain. The cabin was nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed, but it would have been nice to have a microwave and freezer; however, we knew there wasn't either when we booked - just a comment really. We felt like we were in the woods, yet we were close enough to walk to several restaurants and shops. We would definitely stay at the Cabins again.

However, room was pristine and just exactly as described. The decor was outstanding in the space was very welcoming. It fit our needs perfectly. The setting is amazingly quiet for being very close to the road. Traffic becomes far less at night and noise was not an issue. Close to Mahone Bay and easy to access. We would use it again.

We loved the property and the room was truly equipped for everything we might need. The only drawback is that there was hair on the bathroom floor, the dresser and on the blankets. Other than that, it was a great place to stay.

Black Forest Cabins were beautiful! The decor inside the cabin was adorable. It was spacious and clean. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the bathroom- bigger than expected. The cabins are located within walking distance to restaurants, cafes, shopping, the ocean, and walking trails. I would recommend staying here!

It was beautiful! Definitely a 5. If we didn't have prior commitments we would've tried to stay atleast another night. My friend and I were going through some 'stuff' and really needed to forget everything and everyone. Cabin 8 was the perfect get away. We didn't have a chance to enjoy all the amenities but, will be sure to the next time we stay. Thank you so much for your charming little cabin in the woods.

Cute cabin complex close to Mahone Bay

Lovely new cabins, well appointed. Bed very comfortable, large screen TV, very nice bathroom. We thought when we booked that the location would be further from the road, but there was a bit of road noise, but it was not enough to make it hard to sleep. Parking is a bit tight but manageable. The sauna was a nice extra. I would also recommend the addition of a microwave to the cabin. But we were very happy with our stay.

The room was gorgeous in every detail, the owners have a great sense of style and they know how to create a comfortable experience. The location was great for convenience, shops and food in a nice little town, especially if you’re driving from Peggy’s Cove, stopping in Mahone Bay, then on to Lunenburg and beyond. The sauna was also a nice bonus. A friend of ours who lives in Halifax recommended we have dinner at Betty’s on the patio, and we were able to walk there in about three minutes from our cabin. The food and service and garden patio were delightful. Highly recommend Black Forest Cabins if you need a place to stay in Mahone Bay. The photos provided by the owners are accurate down to the small details.
