Excellent staff and superb breakfast. Given 4 stars as not sure the room floor had been mopped ( may have been scuffs but we’re glad we’d brought slippers with us. ) We would stay again but would feel wouldn’t recommend to certain friends.

Don't take a basement room. The corridor smells of public toilets, the room was pre heated to 34 degrees to avoid damp and the wifi didnt work. The restaurant was cold. TBH, the night porter told me they changed ownership the day before, so hopefully some of this was teething issues

Everything fine. One note,the bathroom,toilet area very cold. Maybe unable to work out heating. Otherwise fine. Excellent breakfast. Would certainly recommend hotel which is in excellent area,close to everything.

What a novel way of using the basement of the building to provide 5 star quality rooms. Absolutely excellent. All the staff were very helpful, smart and friendly. The breakfast was of such quantity that for the very first time in all my hotel visits I was not able to leave clean plates!

Received a nice welcome from a young lady on arrival. She surprised us with an upgrade to a suite. Everything seemed great however we soon noticed a horrible smell coming from the bathroom. It smelt like there was a problem with the drains. It was really bad and actually woke me up in the middle of the night. The rooms are all in the basement as far as I can see. This means the rooms are quite dark with a lack of natural light. Bed was large and very comfy. Also liked the free standing bath. Breakfast was included, had a lovely fruit salad to start and then had eggs benedict. Enjoyed the filter coffee that was included. Would probably not stay again due to the room smell and lack of light.

Room was great. Very spacious, large TV for unwinding in the evening, and the freestanding bath in the room was a fantastic addition! Being basement level, you're pretty reliant on artificial light (of which there was enough) but you do get a very peaceful room. Great value and will look to stay here again when in Manchester.

Great Stay!

Booked for my partner’s birthday as a surprise for her and 2 friends. She absolutely loved her stay. The room was amazing and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. To celebrate her birthday with her the hotel sent down a bottle of fizz for her to enjoy, which I thought was a lovely touch. The breakfast was gorgeous and the service was great but she says the beans are really spicy. Will definitely be returning n our next visit!

Disappointing Stay

The service in the hotel wasn’t great. We had to call reception, whilst stood at reception, to get a member of staff to come over and welcome us. A bell to ring would improve this. The room was nice but the bed was that hardest I’ve ever slept on and it was SO HOT! We eventually found the fan in the cupboard which solved this but air con would definitely be an improvement. Breakfast wasn’t great and again, the service could have been improved on. And we were given a code for the car park but we couldn’t get it to work because we didn’t already have the app for NCP so that ended up costing £35! Wouldn’t return here as there are far better hotels very close by that are much better

Very friendly and welcoming.

When you walk through the door and are met with a big smile it sets an amazing tone. Jody on reception is a diamond and all of the staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful. The rooms are a little quirky but that just adds to the ambience. Will definitely be back on my next visit to Manchester.
