Mangawhai Heads Cottage
Our self contained cottage is privately situated in a garden setting close to beaches and shops and cafe's.
The surf beach is only a 4 minute drive away or a 20 minute stroll or if you prefer the Estuary it is only a 5 minute walk away. Close to Wood street shops and cafes, the Golf course and MAZ Activity Centre. Visit Bennetts chocolate factory, local vineyards or pop in into the buzzing Saturday Morning markets at Mangawhai village.
Kitchenette includes a small fridge, microwave, electric frypan, and a portable electric cooktop. We also have a bbq on the back deck.
The bathroom has a shower, toilet and small hand basin.
The bedroom features bifold doors which open out on the the back deck. In the living area we have 2 divan beds which are set up as daybeds.
Sheets and bedding and towels are supplied.
*please bring your own beach towels.*
The cottage is totally separate and private from our main house (we are not always onsite and the cottage has its own driveway access.)
Ideal for couples or a small family.
Special conditions:

Yes, the kitchen was well resourced. It was great to have lovely cutlery and a nice supply of cooking bowls which were microwave safe. Nice to find pepper and salt, and a little cooking oil and an electric frying pan to use, if the weather was too unsavoury to use the barbeque. However, for two nights, we were lucky enough to use the barbie. Think, the gas bottle, may need to be refilled as it didn't get very hot..however, we got there. A couple of things that I thought would be useful to provide , was, a grater, scissors, handy towels, plastic food wrap to use to cover food placed in the microwave.

The place is absolutely perfect! Amenities are great and it’s nice being able to cook for yourself. Host left some great info about the area as well, which was handy when looking for things to do. Have previously stayed before and was also amazing. Overall 10/10 and would stay again :)

Very tidy, welcoming and good host hospitality. The amenities are all very good quality, the soaps and skin prodicts are all hand picked high quality products.
They even accommodated a linen mishap with our young son.
Lovely place and the perfect location to be in near the beach.

We had the most wonderful stay! The house was absolutely beautiful – even better than we expected from the photos. Everything was spotless, tidy, and so welcoming. The view from the deck was breathtaking, and we found ourselves spending so much time just enjoying the scenery.What really stood out were the thoughtful little touches that made the place feel extra special – like the chocolates waiting for us in the fridge and the small bath cloths marked for makeup. It’s those little details that really make a stay memorable.We couldn’t have asked for a better spot for our girls’ weekend, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!
