"We stayed in the beachside annex. This is really on the beach and therefore next to restaurants, but steps to the water. So there are lots of people around during the day, but mostly families. Also, San Andrea is tiny, so by restaurants, I mean three. By the time we had finished dinner, the entire beach had cleared out and we were the only people there. For breakfast, we could make the short trip to the hotel, where the coffee is prepared as you like it and the buffet offering a wide range of healthy, fresh food. The staff are highly professional, which came in handy for me. I needed assistance for an unpredicted and serious problem, which was miraculously solved by Maurizio, who is as knowledgeable about Elba as a person can be. You can rent an umbrella, or you can buy a snorkel and swim off the rocks (very satisfying) or you can make a short trek to a peaceful, sandy beach. All said, a great location with a mostly Italian clientele and very good, fresh seafood. We rented a car and the driving can be challenging. If you are not accustomed to winding roads and Italian driving (other cars come close and often at high speed) it might be a bit scary."

"Checked in early, they were kind enough to hold our luggage but we couldnt get the room because it was 10am. The route to get to the hotel was tough, too many curbs and single car roads the parking was complicated and seemed sus. Upon getting to our room, our luggage was there waiting in the room, but the hotel and room seemed like a prison. The hotel was outdated and didnt feel comfortable. They were nice enough to put a crib inside the room without us asking for our baby."

"Pros: Great beach; restaurant in the hotel; near the beach; great ocean view; free parking; free towels for guests to use at the beach (ask at the reception). Cons: Lots of stairs to get e to the beach; and only one restaurant option to dine in (the hotel one). But you can drive only 5 minutes to get to another town with lots of good restaurants and shopping options. Would definitely stay again here as the beach felt more private and less touristic than in other towns of the island. The restaurant service is amazing, has nice ocean view, and the food is good, but it’s a little pricy when compared to other restaurants in the island. "
