Scenic View Yosemite Cabin with hottub by Casa Oso
Welcome to the log cabin of your dreams! Our beautiful pet-friendly home by Casa Oso was custom-built in 2009, and our interior designer incorporated many original elements from the historic Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park in each room.
You can’t help but feel enveloped in the mystical aura of Yosemite here, as the home is less than an hour from both Park entrances. The views from the hot tub and the front porch tend to make worries melt away and the gracious interiors blend rustic style and comfort to put you into vacation mode from the moment you enter the space.
Amenities include Wifi, A/C, an EV charger, a washer and dryer, wood stove, air purifier, TV with Roku streaming, dedicated workspace and board games sure to fight off rainy day boredom.
Living Areas
Unwind in the light-filled open living room with 2-story vaulted ceilings, a remarkable rock fireplace, and luxurious leather furniture. Curl up with a good book or just get lost in the views from the large windows that look out to a stunning mountain landscape.
The stylish decor creates an incredibly comfortable and inviting ambiance that will surely help to create unforgettable memories for the whole family or group of friends.
Right off the living/kitchen area is the laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer and even an ironing board and iron, so you can always look your best!
Kitchen & Dining
The open kitchen means you can be part of the fun while preparing meals or washing up. We include every amenity to make a totally seamless cooking and dining experience. Appliances in the fully-outfitted space include a microwave, fridge with freezer, dishwasher, gas stove with oven, Instant Pot, blender, toaster, and coffee maker. Make any type of cuisine imaginable with the provided 18-spice set, as well as oil, sugar, salt & pepper, tea, and coffee.
When it’s time to eat, you can choose to pull up a stool to the spacious breakfast bar and grab a quick bite or coffee, or set the formal dining table that seats 8 and dine in style while dazzling natural light floods the room. The modern chandelier means that your culinary creations are always well-illuminated.
Bedrooms & Baths
End a day of hiking and exploring by retreating to one of the 3 peaceful and inviting bedrooms. The thoughtfully-designed primary suite boasts private access to the backyard and hot tub. Hit the snooze button and stretch out in the plush king bed furnished with plenty of pillows and warm comforter with duvet cover. There’s even a sofa bed, perfect if you’re traveling with kids!
Get ready for a total spa experience in the ensuite primary bath. The rock wall shower is unlike any other, with 2 separate shower heads, and the clawfoot tub is the perfect place to soak in style, while the electric fireplace keeps things cozy. A folk art ceramic sink and luxury toiletries are included for the ultimate pampering.
The second and third bedrooms also have king beds, plenty of clothing storage space, and comfortable furnishings.
The shared bathroom has a charming clawfoot tub with shower and a single vanity with a large mirror. Hairdryer is included.
Outdoor Amenities
Experience breathtaking mountain views while relaxing on the porch or in the backyard of this charming cabin on 5 private acres. Enjoy stunning sunrises and sunsets that will leave you speechless. Savor delicious pre-dinner cocktails while the grill master cooks up a mouth-watering feast on the propane grill. Indulge in outdoor dining at the picnic table as the sun sets behind the majestic Sierra Nevadas.
For ultimate relaxation, immerse yourself in the soothing bubbles of the outdoor hot tub. It`s the perfect way to decompress after a day of exploring the incredible wonders of Yosemite. Gather with friends and loved ones around the firepit to enjoy drinks and engaging conversations, and don`t forget to bring marshmallows for a sweet treat!
Welcome to the most charming town in the Sierra Nevada mountains. A lovingly preserved gold rush town, Mariposa is steeped in history and natural beauty. With everything from museums and dining to hiking and water sports, this area has something for everyone.
The most obvious attraction near Mariposa is Yosemite National Park, which is one of the most beautiful and popular national parks in the world, with its waterfalls, meadows, granite cliffs, and giant sequoias. But Mariposa itself is a traveler`s paradise with plenty of things to do, from outdoor adventures to museums and historic sites.
From Mariposa, you can take an hour`s drive to the entrance to the Yosemite National Park, where you can explore the park`s trails, waterfalls, and wildlife. Hike to the top of Half Dome, Yosemite`s iconic granite outcropping during the summer (a limited permit granted via lottery is required for this trip), or take a leisurely stroll through Yosemite Valley and see the famous El Capitan and Bridalveil Fall. For a truly memorable experience, take a nighttime stargazing tour in the park or rent a bike and take on the many trails.
Located just 30 minutes from Mariposa, Bass Lake is the perfect place to experience all sorts of water sports, from kayaking and paddleboarding to swimming and fishing. There are even boat rentals available, so you can relax and fish or spend your time tubing and/or wakeboarding around the lake for an afternoon.
If you`re interested in history, you`ll love exploring Mariposa`s and nearby Oakhurst’s Gold Rush past. Start by visiting the Mariposa Museum & History Center, which has exhibits on the Gold Rush, the Miwok Indians, and the early history of the town. In addition to the Mariposa Museum & History Center, there are several other museums in the area that are worth visiting. The California State Mining and Mineral Museum is a fascinating place to learn about the state`s mining history, while the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad Museum gives you a glimpse into the history of railroading in the area. You can even enjoy a ride through the forest hills in a real steam engine! This is a very popular local attraction.
You can also take a walking tour of Historic Downtown Mariposa, which is filled with historic buildings, shops, and restaurants, or immerse yourself in the beauty of Oakhurst’s historic village called Fresno Flats that is definitely worth a visit.
Mariposa, California is one of the most beautiful and exciting vacation destinations in the United States. From the stunning natural beauty of Yosemite National Park to the historic Gold Rush sites and outdoor activities, there is so much to see and do.
Vrbo House Rules
A highchair and pack and play are included for our youngest guests.
If you bring your pet, you are responsible for cleaning up after it around the property.
The property is unfenced. Due to this there is always a chance of wildlife encounters, including the occasional rattlesnake. Please keep pets leashed and supervised.
Outdoor fires of any kind are strictly prohibited in the high fire season, usually June-November, due to risk of wildfires.
Wildfires are a possibility at certain times of year, and because of this, air quality might deteriorate during these times. The house is equipped with air purifiers for our guests’ comfort. We have an abundance of wildlife and you may observe deer, turkeys, squirrels, hawks, and rabbits. Not as common but sometimes spotted are coyotes, bears, mountain lions, raccoons, skunks, opossums, rattlesnakes, tarantulas, and scorpions. You may occasionally encounter poison oak and poison ivy in the area around the home.
During winter months it is recommended that guests carry snow chains for their vehicles in case of snow or icy conditions. Conditions can be unpredictable at this time of year and it is recommended that guests’ vehicles are prepared for the weather. Snowy or icy road conditions are common in the mountains of California, including Yosemite, from fall through spring. When these conditions exist, federal regulations (in Yosemite) and state law (outside Yosemite) require that you use chains or cables in order to reduce the chances of accidents. If roads are icy or snowy, expect chain controls to be in effect. In Yosemite, park rangers frequently check vehicles, reminding drivers to install tire chains if necessary. Snow chains are usually not mandatory for 4x4 drive and winter tires.
Occasionally throughout the year, power outages occur, though they are typically brief. In this case, there will not be hot water, heat, a/c, or access to appliances. There are backup lights, however
1. Maximum 8 people, after 6 guests $50 per person per night.
2. Quiet hours from 10:00 pm - 8:00 am,
3. Dogs need to be added to reservation prior to stay. Pets additional fee $150 per stay. Maximum 3 pets. You have to pick poo after your animal.
4. No cancelations due to smoke or air quality under 200 (AirNow dot gov).
5. $500 cleaning fee for smoking detected inside the property or glass detected inside the spa.
