    Other things to note
    - Water is very safe to drink (we have 2 systems - sediment filter and UV filter)
    - Dogs are welcome. Maximum of 2, under 50 pounds each.
    - No smoking or vaping inside the home. A $1,000 fine plus the cost of remediation will apply if this rule is violated.
    - Absolutely no hunting or discharging firearms on the property.
    - No motorized recreational vehicles, including ATVs or dirt bikes, are permitted on the property.
    - Please respect the land and our community. When hiking, swimming, or exploring the property, follow a leave no trace approach and leave it better than you found it.
    - Please review the full house rules sections before booking.

    For guest comfort, all comforters and pillows are filled with down alternative materials. Extra pillows and blankets are provided.


    Neighborhood
    Set in a stunning rural landscape, guests can enjoy a private, peaceful, and wonderfully remote setting while still being just 8 minutes from the charming town of Mars Hill. Ivy Creek borders one side of the property, and the top of the land offers sweeping 360-degree views of the surrounding countryside.

    Explore on-site hiking trails, relax by the creek, and cool off in the swimming hole, all right here on the property.

    Getting around
    A vehicle is needed to get around and explore the area. There is parking in the driveway.
    Guests
    Only registered guests are permitted. Please ensure all guests are listed on your reservation. The maximum occupancy is 6. Anyone staying overnight must be registered with us before arrival, and guests are responsible for the behavior and actions of any invitees during their stay. Unauthorized guests may result in immediate termination of the reservation without refund.

    Check-in & check out
    Check-in is anytime after 4:00 PM. Guests agree to checkout by 12:00 PM on check-out day. Extended check-out times are not guaranteed but you may contact us to inquire. Unapproved late check-out may result in an additional $50 fee.

    Noise & quiet hours
    This home is located in a quiet area. Please keep noise to a minimum at all times, especially during quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Excessive noise or disturbances may result in termination of the reservation without refund.

    Events & Parties
    Events, gatherings, and parties are strictly prohibited. No additional visitors beyond registered guests are permitted without prior approval. Violations will result in immediate termination of the reservation without refund, a $500 additional cleaning fee, and reporting to the booking platform.

    Commercial Use & Photography
    No commercial use of the property is permitted without prior written approval. This includes photoshoots, filming, events, advertising, or use of the home’s name, address, or images. Unauthorized commercial use will result in a $10,000 fee.

    Weapons policy
    Weapons of any kind, including firearms, are strictly prohibited on the property. Hunting or discharging firearms is not permitted under any circumstances. If a weapon is brought onto the property, the reservation may be immediately canceled without refund. Any weapons left behind will be reported to local authorities.

    Dogs
    Dogs are permitted with prior approval and a one-time fee of $150. A maximum of two dogs is allowed, with a weight limit of 50 pounds per dog. Please confirm in advance if you plan to bring a dog. Dogs are allowed to enjoy the property and roam free. However, guests are fully responsible for their dog at all times, including their behavior, proper supervision, and ensuring they do not cause damage to the property or wander beyond the property boundaries. Before entering the home, please wipe off dirty paws using paper towels or the designated rags located in the pantry across from the back door. If you run out, please let us know and do not use bath towels for this purpose. Dogs are not permitted on furniture, and guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets in the yard and surrounding areas. If excessive mess, damage, or additional cleaning is required due to a dog’s stay, an additional $500 cleaning fee will be applied.

    Smoking, Vaping, E-cigarettes
    Smoking or vaping of any substances is strictly prohibited inside the home. Smoking is permitted outdoors only. All cigarette butts and related waste must be properly disposed of and not left on the property. Any violation will result in immediate termination of the reservation without refund, along with a $1,000 fee plus the full cost of any necessary remediation.

    Motorized Vehicles
    Motorized recreational vehicles, including ATVs, dirt bikes, or similar equipment, are not permitted anywhere on the property. Violations may result in immediate termination without refund.

    Respect for Property and Community
    Please respect the home, the land, and our surrounding community. While hiking, swimming, or enjoying the property, leave it better than you found it and follow a Leave No Trace approach at all times. All trash must be carried back to the house and left inside.

    Security Cameras & Safety Devices
    There is one exterior security camera located at the barn on the property. It is used for security purposes when the home is not occupied and does not monitor any guest living areas or spaces where guests are present. Guests may not cover, move, disable, or tamper with any security equipment, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, or the WiFi router.

    Child safety
    Children must be supervised at all times. The home is not baby-proofed and is located in a natural, wooded mountain environment near Asheville. The property includes uneven ground, wooded areas, wildlife, water features, and rugged terrain. Children should not roam the property unsupervised. Guests acknowledge that the property is in a natural environment and assume all associated risks.

    Bathroom
    Only toilet paper may be flushed. Feminine hygiene products, wipes, paper towels, or any other items must not be placed in the plumbing system. If a clog is caused by prohibited items, a minimum $1,000 plumbing and service fee will be charged.

    Trash & Wildlife
    To prevent attracting wildlife, do not leave trash, food, or food waste outside the home at any time, especially overnight. All waste must be brought inside. Trash is located behind the sink in the stainless steel bin, and recycling is in the blue bin in the pantry across from the back door. If either bin becomes full during your stay, please contact the host for removal.

    Using the Propane Grill
    The propane grill is available for guest use and must remain in its designated location at all times. For fire safety and to prevent property damage, the grill may not be moved under any circumstances. A $300 fee will apply if the grill is relocated. After use, please clean the grate with the provided steel brush, turn the propane tank valve fully off, and re-cover the grill once it has completely cooled.

    Using the Fire Pit
    The outdoor fire pit is available for guest use during permitted burn conditions. It must remain in its designated location and may not be moved. Fires must be kept small, fully supervised at all times, and completely extinguished before leaving the area. Once finished, please place the metal mesh cover securely over the pit.

Great little home

My family enjoyed our stay at this property. It was very quiet and we enjoyed exploring the different trails. We had everything we needed for a nice week vacation. We made use of the kitchen to cook some meals. We enjoyed nights by the fire. The bed was comfortable. The layout of the small home was perfect.
