It can be a bit inconvenient without a car, but there’s a bus stop right in front of the hotel that runs at specific times and goes to the nearest train station, Shiojiri. "We had a lovely stay. The staff were very hospitable and dinner on both nights was a brilliant experience. The private onsens were gorgeous. Highly recommend for a traditional Japanese stay."

There are generally not that many options and variety with food both in the hotel and in the nearby by restaurants and cafes, but that’s understandable given that the location, nature and ski resorts are nearby instead."

"The hotel is well located at lake front, although our room was on the lower floor and the view was a bit blocked by the fence outside the windows. The staff were extremely helpful and the one served us could speak English. The food was good.The private bath (fee required) inside the public bath has half glass walls so not so private except exclusive use of the facility .Given the price we paid included a free tour of the shrines, we considered it's value for money."
