The house was wonderful. There was plenty of room for the whole family both inside and outside. We relaxed by the pool and the fire pit while the dogs roamed within the fenced yard. Epic games of ping pong and foosball were played in the basement, while the adults enjoyed the quiet on the main floor. The house was clean and the kitchen is well stocked for cooking. The property itself is beautiful, as is the surrounding community. The property owner even checked in with us after the first night and was very quick to respond to my messages. Would definitely stay here again.
House was perfect for a group with a mix of couples & singles. Very clean, well stocked the perfect getaway. The owner was great about updates on the property.
Our first time in Tennessee we traveled for a baseball tournament. The house was perfect! Everything was great the kids enjoyed the pool and the table games downstairs.
The Chattanooga Country Home was the perfect place for our family to come together from different states to celebrate Thanksgiving. The home was very clean and welcoming. The reservation process was smooth and easy. While our focus was home time for Thanksgiving dinner and family interaction, we were close enough to take advantage of some of Chattanooga's tourist offerings.
Great time with the Grand Kids from Georgia. Plenty of room. The owner kept the pool open for us which was an added bonus for the Grandkids. Thank you from the Counterman's.
House was nice and well stocked with kitchen supplies. Pool was warm. Lot's of beds and activities like ping pong and mini pool table. Quiet neighborhood.
We stayed for a long weekend. The house was a nice easy distance from Hwy 75, the screened in porch and bathroom is a nice addition to the backyard. We utilized the pool, and firepit most nights. The place was easy to access and quiet. There's plenty of space for everyone to have their space and the living room / kitchen open area is well equipped for family dinners and entertainment.
The owner / host responded to all questions quickly and was very helpful! There's grocery stores, fast food, and restaurants nearby before getting to the highway if needed. This team has done a great job setting up their property for a larger family. Well done!
We had a fishing tournament on lake chickamauga so we had a little drive to the tournament but the pool at the house was a plus for something to do when not on the lake. The weather was really rough the first several days and we lost power for roughly 20 hrs...this was totally out of anyone's hands, no negative affect of the house.
The house was plenty big enough for all of our needs. The only annoying thing from the week long stay was the kitchen sink faucet. There is an exact spot with the on/off valve that must be caught to stop it from dripping or running(it's time consuming). There was so much rain that week we were there and prior to our arrival that the grass was in desparate need of mowing and the ants were a constant battle...again, these are just occurrences with nature. The area surrounding the home and the town of Ootlewah were absolutely breathtaking! We loved it and would return! Rex was quick to respond with any needs! Thank you for allowing me and my family to stay at one of your many vacation spots!

Beautiful home, a few issues
The setting of the home is beautiful. The property is really fairly private with the exception of the neighbor to the right side of the property. The inside is immaculate and the location is close to 75 so you can enjoy the country setting but have easy access to Chattanooga and surrounding areas. The beds were super comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked if you wanted to cook. The pool is large but during our stay there was no power to the filter. We returned one day to the pool full of grass and leaves from yard maintenance and had to skim the pool the best we could. The rules for house state that the air temp should not be set below 72 degrees, but the house rules posted in the house state not below 76 degrees. This is a bit warm for me although there are ceiling fans available. The water pressure is not amazing so the showers are on the weak side. The owner did request access to the property but did not come into the house at our request and did not return to the property during our stay. The listing shared that the yard is fenced and it is, but be aware that there is a hole in the fence in the back corner of the property so if you have dogs with you, they may find these holes and get loose. Our dogs are always looking to make a break for it! Overall, these were minor issues that did not greatly impact our stay.
We enjoyed our annual family week at this house. The screened in porch and pool were the clear highlights.
We were a little put off by the long list of rules sent to us without any type of welcome. And then when we got to the house we had issues with the internet, flooded basement, no propane in grill tanks, gas grill was old and bottom had fallen out due to rust. The large clock in the living room did not work. We also were given quite limited garbage bags, paper towels and toilet paper.
When we informed the owner he got defensive and challenged a number of our complaints. But he did get a handyman out the next day who was very accommodating and took care of the issues.
The kitchen was not well stocked with only 5 matching plates for a house advertising 8 people. Older frying pans where everything stuck to the pan.
But the house was clean and we enjoyed are time there despite these minor inconveniences.
It was a perfect place to hang out with our daughters and their friends from a local university. Everything was clean and comfortable. Would absolutely recommend and definitely stay again!
The house was very nice. The beds were very comfy. The kitchenware was nice and clean. Within 10 minutes to a small town called Ooltewah which has plenty of nice restaurants and grocery shopping. The Little Debbie Park was really cute. Excellent time.
Very well maintained property. Beautiful inside and outside. We will definitely look at this property again when we come back to town for work. Host was great.
We had a great stay at this home and really enjoyed a full week of swimming, relaxing, and spending time with friends and family. The check-in and check-out process had clear instructions made everything simple. When we first arrived, we did notice that the previous guests had left behind some pet waste in the yard. I reached out to the host, and he was extremely responsive and communicative. He personally came out the next day to clean it up and also had the lawn mowed after seeing the grass had gotten a bit overgrown. Overall, the property had everything we needed for a fun and comfortable getaway, and the host’s responsiveness made a big difference. We’d definitely stay again!
What a wonderful property. There was plenty of room for my husband and I, two daughters, son, and my in-laws. The backyard patio was a quiet and relaxing place for a morning coffee. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked with all cooking needs. The basement had a fun family area for playing table tennis. Best of all, the house was sparkling clean and the showers were perfectly heated. We were all completely pleased with this property. Plus Rex was a wonderful host, checking in on us and answering questions immediately. Thank you for a stress-free stay!

Not what we expected
Sent a message to the owner after hurricane Helene devastated parts of North Carolina. We were arriving in just a few weeks and wanted to make sure everything was OK. The owner assured us that there was no damage to the property. He stated “ All fine no issues” We arrived on October 6th and to our surprise found that the property had a flood and the flooring was ripped out and the third bathroom was inoperable. No flooring in lower play room, or lower bathroom. Rex did get a plumber in the next morning to put the bathroom back into working order, but no flooring.
Over the week we found other items that needed repairs:
Kitchen faucet can't turn off, drinking water tank does not work, the dishwasher leaks, only one burner works on the stove, frying pans were unusable, had to buy cookware, tiny microwave - cup size.
There are no dressers in bedrooms, and one room is 2 twins pushed together and is not a king as noted, no light bulbs in ceiling fans, TV in master not hooked up to wifi and not usable. We did not use the pool or firepit.
I hate leaving a bad review but this place just deserved it. It's a shame cuz it's a beautiful property if the owner would just put a little money into it and keep it up.
I would have been more understanding if he would have called me ahead of time and told me that the issues were there, but the fact we showed up with no notice was just not right.
