It was a really beautiful and relaxing cottage.. the neighboring cottages were noisy at times and there was no hot water. I think for $500 per night there should be hot water!! Otherwise all good!

(Note: we chose to leave the property prior to our check-out date, and will not seek a refund)
Our party of 2 booked the 'Cottage, 2 bedrooms (Magnolia)' which is listed as containing 1 king bed and 1 queen bed. Two rooms were what we needed, so the listing was perfect.
Unfortunately, the listing is not accurate. According to the correspondence with the listed mobile phone number, 'the additional bedroom is not available when only 2 guests are staying. We can provide the 2nd bedroom for an additional $50.' There was nobody on the site to assist with our situation, and reception is only available for Telstra phones (Optus has poor or no reception).
Some other notes - the owners request your address, contact details and check-in time immediately after confirming your booking, and will not provide check-in information until you have done so.
Accessibility is tricky, as the cottage is at the top of several gradual flights of stairs from the car park. There are also a couple of steps up to the master bedroom, and one step down to the bathroom. We noticed other additional charges for not washing dishes, and the provided firewood would have lasted perhaps one night. The shower runs the gamut of hot to cold and back. The guest book with the wifi password was hidden under the television.
We are residents in the area, and are proud to say that the Dandenongs are an amazing area to visit in Melbourne. Please be wary of this property, and I hope that the information above helps.
The property was beautiful we lost power on our first night for about an hour, we were not given enough breakfast provisions for the 2 night stay, we were told we could ask for more but had no phone reception. On the second day we discovered we were without hot water at 7.30 pm by the time we realised we had an email response it was after 10pm and stated it was too late, we were ready for bed. The tap to the spa was also continuously running. We were not advised where the hot water service was to check it or where we could turn off the water mains. We expected someone would be sent first thing in the morning to fix things, it did not occur. We could not shower and had to boil the kettle to do the dishes. I have sent a few emails with no response and requested for some sort of compensation for our inconvenience. I waited for a response prior to completing the review, but still nothing. Due to the poor customer service I could not recommend this property unfortunately.
We stayed in the Tranquility cottage. Absolutely loved the fire place. very cosy. We loved the loft bed-room and the peaceful 'feel' of the cottage. Met my expectation of homely, cosy, private and quiet. Loved that we could take our mini-dachshund fur-child. Loved how the place was tucked in amongst the trees.
Only downsides: we couldn't get take away delivered ( so just simply plan ahead), and the spa water from the tap came out slightly muddy... maybe because it is tank water? we weren't sure..
All in all, I just loved our stay :)
The pots were not cleaned properly which needed a scourer to get it cleaned. The non stick fry pan had rust marks and was not usuable as it was also had built up grime which could not be cleaned even if it washed. The oven and stove hobs had built on grime which was not acceptable. Message was sent to the owner and they asked if we had cleaned the pots before using them which is not acceptable. Guests should not have to scrub pots before they use them. A request for a partial refund was requested but no response. They did indicate that they would send the cleaner while we were out but no one attended to these issues and a replacement fry pan was not provided when asked.
The response was along the lines that they could not see a problem even though the photos I sent were clear.
Overall property was a little run down and dated with chipped skirting boards, windows were dirty, sofa bed mattress had rust stains, faded carpet in areas, drapes were worn and dirty and chipped handles on cupboards.
Highly recomend. Beautiful area an perfect cottages

nestled amongst the trees.
We stayed in the Lyrebird cottage. It didn't overly impress us although the bed was comfy and clean. This cottage didn't have views so perhaps I booked the wrong one. We were disappointed with only one firelighter as our fire went out while in the spa. Breakfast wasn't much to write home about either with only 2 pieces of bread for 2 adults...most b&b's have a small loaf of bread. Disappointed with he TV reception could only get Channel 10,1 and SBS. Also had a big problem with the shower, when you turned cold on with hot the hot would cut out.. To cold a morning for a cold shower. On the up side the area is beautiful and when did have a pleasant nights sleep.

Cozy - not Lux
Pleasing property but oversold on line - we had power issues and can slow response from management. Arrive 5ish lost power at 5:30pm - no power no water and no toilet as all water runs on pumps and with three children under 10 - hard work. Were advise power back around 1AM but was back at 10PM when all had gone to sleep. For the price of a night we found the property well under our expectations and no manuals on the cottage. After power came back on the spa started to come on - i would turn it off and 10 min later it would come on again - we almost woke up the children and left - i went outside and found the power and turned it off manually after 1/2 hour

Beautiful location
Beautiful location but that is all. Way to expensive.
Appreciated the privacy, loved the property, needed more access to firewood & there was a issue with the hot water on only one morning. Overall very enjoyable, have recommended to others
Not enough clean food choices in the area
Hotel breakfast was devine though fresh ingredients

Great location but some flaws
Hot water service could not handle the spa. The hot water was literally dribbling out. We eventually had a half-full spa kept warm with the kettle.
Also they don't give you enough firewood (5 bits) and try to charge an exhorbitant amount ($40 for another 5 pieces) for more otherwise you have to go and get your own! Never seen anything like it before.
Other than that it was good.
Very welcoming and warm atmosphere. Cheryl very friendly and cheerful. Very helpful. One of the welcoming and friendliest places I have been for a while.
My girlfriend and I stayed in the Steeple cottage, which had the perfect balance of space and cosiness. Great to have a little kitchen, and the candles by the bath were a beautiful touch.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and seemed to get a kick out of having a Goth couple stay the night.
