Myself and 6 other friends came up to Mount Martha for a weekend away and really enjoyed our stay in Navy No. 9. The cottage was just enough space for us and the air conditioning was effective in the main area of the house despite how hot it was. The cottage was very clean and we were happily treated to a box of favourites chocolates in the fridge upon arrival which we smashed in about 2 minutes. We were also provided with a couple of essentials like Vegemite, butter, jam and tomato sauce which was really convenient. The addition of having Netflix on the TV also was great and something we got good use out of. Being high up, the view outside of the main windows at the front of the house was really nice. The room with 2 bunk beds was quite small, so we opted to move our mattresses from that room onto the carpet in the main corridor with the window with the great view in front of us.
The cottage was in a nice quiet area and took us about 10 minutes to walk to Safety Beach (which we didn't mind at all). It was a little inconvenient if we wanted to venture further out into different areas as buses where the the only form of public transport, and they only came every 1-1.5 hours and rarely operated past around 10pm.
The owner, Nikki, provided great communication prior, during and following our stay. She allowed us to check in earlier than originally planned which was great and due to late transport we were stuck in Mount Martha for a few hours longer than we were asked to initially check out, and she was very understanding of this and allowed us to hang out at the cottage until we were able to head home. Her and her husband David were very warm and welcoming upon arrival.
Overall we had a great time in Navy No. 9, and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking to stay for a few nights on the Peninsula.
