DON'T DO IT
This place looks like an abandoned council house. The front door had packing tape on the letter box, garden is over grown. House is filled by random people despite the owner saying she no longer runs a B&B. Night 2 had dog poo on the kitchen floor. The smell in the property is overwhelming and you won't want to sleep on a bed. Lots of lovely locks to keep you in a room, not so many to stop anyone else coming in. The place shouldn't really be lived in but absolutely shouldn't be a B&B on Hotels.com or Expedia.

I booked to stay for two nights in UCC B&C with ebookers. Firstly, Wendy could not find my booking as they “have not registered in Ebookers” and then “Can you cancel 26- 27's booking asap if it is -to avoid the charges” and she would find us somewhere else to stay. Charges being Wendy being charged by ebookers for not providing the accommodation we paid for. Why should that be my issue? I did end up staying there but now wish I did cancel.. To name a few of my experiences: 1. Room and entire was extremely dirty and had no lock on the bedroom door to keep our valuables safe 2. The two kitchen sick water taps had a plastic bottle stuck to them to try and make a sort of mixed single flow of water. Disgusting 3. Arrived home at night to be told her ex-boyfriend had taken the key to our room and we were locked out (?).Turned out that was an issue for another person and not me.. 4. Paper thin walls meaning we could hear everything including a woman crying uncontrollably at 2:00am and being told told she no longer had a room to stay in after already checking in earlier that day 5. Locked in our room from the outside on final night! My sister woke me up in distress to her not being able to get out. Absolute disgrace. I have to believe this warrants a refund, as you have read this was an extremely unsatisfactory stay. I wish I had more words in this review to explain how terrible this was in full. I don’t believe you should still be advertising this place on your website.

booked a room in b&b for the night, money taken out of bank day after got email to say overbooked but offered another b&b. on arrival it was just a house which we later found out was her friends, we where expected to cook our own breakfast which was included in the price which definetly was not worth it, avoid any ucc b&b complete rip offs.

The owner of this property - Wendy - is extremely kindhearted and goes out of her way to make sure your stay is as pleasant as possible! Would recommend to absolutely everyone and anyone!

My week at Wendy's B&B
From the moment I arrived at the B&B, the owner Wendy was incredibly hospitable. She personally picked me up from the train station and she was incredibly warm and welcoming. She made me feel really at ease, and the fact that she went out of her way to accommodate me by cooking and ensuring there were food supplies, despite this not being included in the price I paid, was beyond what I expected. I was visiting Middlesbrough for an internship and I had no idea how to reach the destination. Wendy was incredibly kind and she drove me to the destination on my first day, saving me from being late! The second day I took the bus and Wendy's partner, who also stays B&B and helps out, personally showed me where the bus stop was and even accompanied me to my destination to ensure that I knew which stop to exit the bus. I doubt many places would offer this which is incredibly telling of how generous, warm, kindhearted, hospitable people Wendy and Dennis are. Aside from Wendy mentioning in passing that she has plans for renovating the place e.g. whilst there's an inside toilet for upper floor guests, there's an outside one for ground floor guests which Wendy plans to change, I don't think anything needs to be improved. I really enjoyed my time at the B&B and wholeheartedly advise that people stay there; it really is a nice area with a great atmosphere. This is a genuine, real review having stayed at the B&B for a week and truly loved my time there; I will most definitely be revisiting!
