9819 Shore - Beachfront on Primehook Beach.

Located bay front on Prime Hook Beach! This three bedroom cottage is set up for easy living. Three bedrooms offer sleeping for six with an additional sleeper sofa in the living area. There is one full bathroom in the main house with a shower stall plus an outside shower to keep the sand out of the house. The living area and dining are combined just off of the kitchen. From the rear of the house, it's a quick walk out to the beachfront gazebo and beach. Hurry to book your vacation week in this cute cottage right on the water.

Guests must bring their own sheets and towels. 3 night stays anytime

Guests must choose to purchase a $70 Vacation Rental Damage Insurance policy covering $3,000.00 in accidental damage, or pay a refundable security deposit of $2,000.00. Policies of a lesser amount are not acceptable. This amount will not be reflected in the quote amount on VRBO.

The property must be occupied for the entire rental period by the Guest signing the Lodging Agreement (Responsible Guest), and all occupants of the Property shall be supervised by the Responsible Guest. The Responsible Guest must be at least 25 years of age. If the party is made up of unrelated individuals (a group rental where the Responsible Guest is NOT the legal guardian/parent of any other guests), ALL guests occupying the property must be at least 25 years of age.

We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover Credit Cards and eChecks for your initial deposit. We also accept personal checks for final payments. Final payments are due 30 days prior to your check-in date. NOTE: Any payments within 30 days of arrival require to be in certified funds or by credit card. You will be provided a link to a Guest Portal where you can securely make your payments online.

VRBO BOOKINGS: This property is hosted by the management company noted as Owner on VRBO. After booking the property you will be charged a booking fee by VRBO. ALL other fees and the rental amount will be charged by the management company and paid to the management company. Once you have booked you will be contacted by the management company and sent a Lodging Agreement that must be signed. Apart from Damage Protection, all fees associated with the booking are displayed in the VRBO booking.

Our stay was just as we expected it to be from the description and reviews. The cottage was clean and has all of the essentials. Not fancy. Basic and adequate. The pavilion by the ocean was really wonderful and we utilized the outdoor shower a lot. A great choice for us!

Got my calm back!

Incredibly peaceful beach with sparsely scattered beachgoers, gentle waves, and soft sand. Ceiling fans with open floor plan and pocket doors secreting bedrooms away provide for both gatherings and restful privacy with a whir of moving air above. Sunrise coffee in the pergola beachside is best!

Cosy Quiet Beach Shack in Need of Maintenance with Close Access to Private Beach

We had a wonderful stay at the beach and loved the easy access to the private beach, just footsteps out the backdoor. The gazebo made for pleasant nights watching the moon rise over the water. The house is in needed of care. repair, and significant updates; but otherwise comfortable.

second year here and we love it. Good thing we bring furniture covers. Couch was nasty. stained and ripped. hope we are not charged the $55 grill cleaning because we did not use it and it was dirty from prior tenants. have pics on entry if needed.

Needs Maintenance

We enjoyed our week at Prime Hook but this home has several maintenance issues that need to be addressed. The main one being the kitchen sink does not drain properly. It drains slow all the time but when you are running the dishwasher it backs up into the sink. I spent the last night of vacation bailing water from the kitchen sink into the bathroom shower so that it would not overflow. This is our 2nd time staying in this home and it had the same problem last year-nothing was repaired. I had emailed the rental agent before hand to see if some of the issues were addressed. He said they put in new cabinets and countertops so they did not fix other items. When we got there-they had only put in new countertops but just painted the cabinets. That would have been ok IF they had fixed the drainage issue. Also furniture is falling apart (bench in kitchen and bench at dining table)wheels fell off charcoal grill when my husband was using it-luckily no one was burned. When you load the bottom rack of the dishwasher the dishwasher falls out of the counter-it’s not fastened in to anything. The outside shower was not working(apparently the water was never turned on-house was not opened up properly at beginning of season) Window screens are all full of holes so you can’t open the windows and hear the surf (also notified them about this last year) we love the beach pavilion and location but will probably not rent here again due to lack of maintenance. Nothing appears to be an expensive fix.

Tranquil

We had the most wonderful, tranquil, relaxing 10 days at this adorable little gem. The neighborhood is friendly. The sunrises were amazing out in the gazebo on the beach. We even saw dolphins on our last morning! The cottage is charming-the kitchen a little rustic, but functional. Bring the insect repellent for the days there is a westerly breeze. The view outweighs the annoyance of the mosquitoes and biting flies. We can’t wait to come back!

Restorative Oasis

A truly lovely home that sits beach front and welcomes the sunrise each day! Every morning was coffee on the sheltered decking in the dunes (even on the rainy day we didn’t get wet sitting out!). Water was warm and waves gentle for a swim… neighboring groups friendly and respectful…. evening walks down Shore Drive and you could catch a glimpse of the sunset over the Wildlife Refuge!!! Came home completely unwound :)

Great home on the beach. Very clean and very well stocked kitchen. The beach front gazebo was where we ate most dinners unless we had grands down for the day. Great place for sunrise coffee. Loved the outdoor shower. Great if you have littles, mine came for a few hours one day and they loved the sun and sand. The waves are small so we did not have to worry about them getting carried out. No crowds on the beach, it was like the 14/mile was all our own.

We will be back!

We have rented for years in Broadkill Beach and LOVE IT! We made a quick choice to rent in Prime Hook after our normal house was booked full. Boy were we in for a surprise! We wont be going back to Broadkill. We LOVED this house. The accessibility to the beach is ONE OF A KIND! Truly beach front and so easy as a mom running back and forth to the beach for snacks and bathroom breaks! The gazebo outside is dreamy! From sipping coffee in the morning watching dolphins in the bay to a (transportable) fire pit under the gazebo at night for smores was just PERFECT! The views of the water from in the house are gorgeous. The drive into Prime Hook are so exclusive. The kitchen is probably the ONLY downfall but REALLY does have what you need just isnt as pretty as everything else.

A Little Gem

Great little house. The open concept is perfect to help you relax. Watching the ocean from the kitchen was amazing. The tiny waves were my style but kids wanted bigger waves. MY husband and daughter claimed the fishing was fun. As usual, some days were better than others. There was one or two other people fishing but for the most part the beach was wide open. The presence of green/horse flies was similar to the fishing, some days there were more than others. Bring your bug spray. Overall, the house was clean except for the ceiling fans and air conditioners. A deep layer of dust was on the ceiling fans and the air conditioners. Because of dust allergies we had to do some extra cleaning. The location of the house is about 25 minutes from any shops or restaurants, so be prepared to travel if you are not going to cook. My favorite place was the gazebo in the back. The perfect place to drink your morning coffee, watch the sun rise, read a book, eat a snack or enjoy the sunset.

Great stay for a young family

We loved this beach house! Small but super cute. We came with our four young children. The location was ideal, the beach was quiet, no one else was visible for most of our stay. Waves were calm but enough entertainment. We loved the wildlife. Crabs on the beach, bunnies in the back yard, birds in abundance. On the drive in we saw two bald eagles - beautiful. The small deck on the beach was great to keep Beach things and had a great view of the sunrise. Some recommendations: a full length mirror would be great. There were only two small mirrors. Also more empty dresser drawers to unpack (although I did appreciate the eclectic /vintage furnishings). Finally, I didn't have great communication with the property manager. I never recieved check in or check out information. I only got the code for the door when I called to ask some other questions, never in an email. Still one of my favorite rentals and would definitely recommend

Charming beach house. A very comfortable stay. Morning Coffee in the gazebo and an evening glass of wine was just what the Dr. ordered :) We fished, swam, floated, kayaked, flew kites, relaxed and so much more! We would stay here again.

Awesome beach bungalow

This little house on the Delaware Bay was perfect for our prime objective of seeing the horseshoe crabs come ashore in May to lay their eggs. Our kids enjoyed playing in the sand and flying kites on the beach. The neighbor is so quiet and the neighbors all friendly. The morning sun is no joke, and the seagulls are plentiful! The house is simple, with all basic housing requirements. The outdoor shower was a hit with all. The kitchen could definitely use an upgrade, but we only really cooked breakfast at home. A toaster would be a nice improvement! Would definitely stay here again.

Cozy little cottage on the beach. Needs a kitchen upgrade in a bad way, not ideal for those who like to cook. Open plan layout makes it hard to put the kids to bed and not disturb them while having a conversation in the living room.. The location is great, beach was nice, house just needs some TLC.

This beach cottage was the perfect size and location for our family of 6. Bedrooms had nice mattresses, everything was simple and easy to keep cleaned up. The beach area was wonderful for our younger kids; the waves weren’t too big and the beach isn’t packed with people. Overall, we had a great time!

Private Quiet Getaway

Very quaint sea cottage with a lovely view of the water. The only home with a gazebo which is priceless ! Ideal for those that want to getaway and have some peace and quiet.

Great location

The home is situated on a lovely private beach with warm water. My family really enjoyed the beach each day and my son loved fishing off the bridge in the primehook nature preserve which was walking distance from the house. The downside was that it was impossible to do anything outside (like enjoy the gazebo) in the evening because the mosquitos were so intense. The other only big complaint is that the real estate agency doesn't promise to have the place cleaned before the 2 p.m. check in. This is in the contract which I hadn't noticed prior to our arrival. We wound up arriving at the house around 4 p.m. it was very dirty and had not been cleaned. My wife did not feel comfortable unpacking our things. Cleaners arrived at about 4:45 and didn't leave the house untill about 6. We have a 18 month old that goes to bed at 6:30 and we could not even access the kitchen to feed him. Without being able to use house we decided to go to dinner at the Backyard in Milton (which is lovely). Our kids wound up getting to bed hours late, melting down, and we spent our first even unpacking at 9pm. It really ruined our first day and I frankly don't understand how the real estate agency can have a policy that allows check in at 2 p.m. but cleaners that can clean until 6 pm. In every other place I've ever stayed there is an 11 a.m. check out and 2 p.m. check in so that the place can be cleaned during that 3 hours. It didn't ruin the vacation but it certainly got it off to a crappy start.
