  • Set in the quiet hamlet of Crooklands, this spacious and inviting holiday home offers a lovely base for exploring the beautiful South Lakes, part of the glorious Lake District National Park. The ground-floor apartment sleeps four guests and is moments away from a country pub serving food. A village shop is a mile distant, and you’ll find more eateries and shops in the vibrant market towns of Kendal and Kirby Lonsdale, both within 6 miles. Take a stroll along the scenic Lancaster Canal, which runs through Crooklands, and cruises through stunning countryside during the high season. A walk up to the ruins of historic Kendal Castle offers splendid views of the Lakeland fells and River Kent, while the Abbot Hall art gallery houses an outstanding collection. Visit Levens Hall (3.5 miles), with its splendid topiary gardens and the National Trust’s fine medieval Sizergh Castle (6 miles).


    Occupying the entire ground floor of this historic, stone-built property, the inviting apartment is tastefully furnished in a contemporary style. Open the front door to find the well-designed and spacious open-plan living area. This features comfortable seating around the sleek wood burner, with a separate dining area that’s ideal for shared meals, and a neat, all-white kitchen housing all you need on the culinary front. The bright king-size bedroom has a delightful period ornamental fireplace and doors opening onto a private suntrap patio. The twin bedroom, also brightly furnished, offers lovely countryside views, while the stylish wet room has a shower and WC.


    Outside, the private patio from the main bedroom is a lovely spot for a quiet drink or al fresco dinner. You can also enjoy a peaceful moment on the shared lawn and riverside patio, listening to the sound of birdsong and the water. Parking is available for one car.
