Really nice house, roustic charm.

We had a good time, but unfortunately there were an invasion of bugs, nothing the owners could help, but it was not very nice for us to have them everywhere. The house is really nice and full of charm. More of roustic charm type of house. A bit far away from town and stores, you really need a car. We aimed to play golf, but the golf courses are not in best shape, hope they will improve for coming years. The owners are really nice and helpful.

Spectacular!

This gorgeous country estate is even more beautiful than the pictures. Our family of 6 adults and one infant had loads of room, inside and out, and every comfort imaginable: super cozy bed linens, lots of soft towels and pool towels, a fully stocked kitchen - more than you could ever use, modern kitchen equipment, a sparkling clean pool every morning, groceries picked up and in the house before we even arrived. Christiane and John could not be kinder or more responsive. They made us feel so welcome with lots of sweet extras and valuable information and referrals in the area. So many darling towns and recreation within driving distance. We had every single thing we needed or wanted. We have stayed at dozens of home rentals over the years and by far, this was the easiest, most beautiful and most wonderful experience! Thank you Christiane and John!

Wonderful holiday

Had a wonderful holiday in Monfaucon. Property way beyond our expectations, met all our needs and then some, like the luxury bed linen. The pool is especially fantastic! So happy to relax there that we only went out for groceries. Very peaceful area. So sad to leave a day early due to quarantine issues back home but hope to go back very soon.

Country Elegance and Charm

The house was large and spacious. Moreover It was full of character and charm, but also was very well appointed and maintained with a lot of attention. Notably the bedrooms had mod cons like AC and good functional bathrooms. Kitchen areas were large and impressive, everything was high end quality. We found it a great base for long day trip - from San Sebastian (Spain) to Bordeaux - overall it was everything we hoped it would be.

Magnifique bastide dans un environnement bucolique. Repos et. Randonnée dans un cadre très reposant.

Nous avons passé une semaine de vacances à la Toussaint avec notre famille. Il a fait un temps magnifique. Nous avons été presque tout le temps dans la propriété, les enfants à jouer dehors et les adultes à nous promener et à lire. La maison permet que chaque génération a son espace. Cette maison a une âme et il y c’est très un véritable bonheur d’y séjourner car le temps semble arrêté. Les hôtes sont très sympathiques

Une semaine dans une magnifique propriété, ultra équipée (parfait pour ceux qui aiment cuisiner !), à la décoration soignée où sont mêlés charme de l'ancien et confort moderne. Les nombreuses pièces permettent de se retrouver ou de s'isoler quand on le souhaite. A souligner également la piscine, particulièrement agréable. This was our second time at Maison Manechal, and the stay was every bit as pleasing as the first. This is a beautifully presented rural property with great character and generous and helpful hosts. If you are interested in visiting the Gera or Haute-Pyrenees then I recommend Manechal without hesitation. It is the perfect base from which to explore this fascinating region, or the ideal house to relax and take things easy. It is difficult to imagine a better equipped rental could be found.

Charming and spacious, full of character and good taste

A sign of how much we loved our recent stay here is how it keeps popping up in our conversations now that we are back home. The owners are gracious and thoughtful; the housevis exactly the way you see in the photos; it is an idyllic country retreat where you can lie by the pool; stare at the stars; cook delicious meals in your two kitchens (no, that's not a typo) using ingredients you have found at local weekly morning markets. What's not to love? We are already making plans to return. The beds, by the way, are particularly comfortable and you won't lack for things to do if you're tired of just revelling in the beauty of it all. Lots of games and such on hand. A true gem.

First class!

Maison Manechal is a beautiful, large and extremely well equipped house, in an excellent rural location. Hosts Christiane and John have gone to great lengths to prepare the house for guests, and it has all the convenience and comfort of home ( or the home you wish for). The area is rural, but there is plenty of opportunity for sightseeing in some very attractive countryside with a range of inviting villages and larger towns in comfortable driving distances on xcellent and uncrowded roads. I have no hesitation in recommending Maison Manechal, and the online information is a very good representation of what you will find in this marvellous region of duck and foie gras, Armagnac and floc, Madiran and St Mont wines, wide and shady arcades and the Pyrenees on the horizon, and at the right time of the year one of the world's great jazz festivals.
