We travel a lot and this place really was a good experience. Perfect and simple design with great attention to details. The cleaning is immaculate . We have the opportunity meeting the owner. "Being in old Valença was like being on an island with fantastic views from anywhere in the hotel. The breakfast food was good, the staff friendly and efficient, and the hotel ambiance was understated, quiet, and comfortable. We brought our car—easy parking—but arrival by train or coach would have been fine. Once inside the Fortaleza de Valença, there was no need to leave."
