Lovely town location
The owner was very accommodating. He has a house adjoining the property so was responsive when needed. The house layout is unique. There are two lower level bedrooms, no windows, and a family room isolated from the rest of the house. There are two bedrooms upstairs via a stairway from the dining room, and they are large with spacious bathrooms. The other two bedrooms are in the “tower”, accessible from the family room by VERY steep stairs. We did not use these bedrooms but it would have been a challenge to get a large suitcase up the stairs. The pool is very nice, but you have to walk about 100 feet up a fairly steep hill. During our stay we had an ant issue and rarely ate in the house. The owner said he was having the same problem in his house as well. The town is lovely, very upscale. It is about a mile into the downtown area, but we frequently walked. The train station is only a mile or so away and we used it to go into Florence, Luca, Pisa, and Viareggio. We enjoyed our time in Montecatini Terme.
