Great, small English country hotel

Between Oxford and Birmingham, we found a very nice small country hotel run by the owners, Julian and Anna Ebbutt. Comfortable beds and rooms, upscale bath, pleasant gardens, very good breakfast. We'd go back and stay for 2-3 days instead of 1 night. The town of Blockly is typical small town England, including the old church and bowling green. Nice meal at the local pub, the Great Northern, I believe it was called, 1000 ft. from the hotel. The towns surrounding Blockly are very close and worth a couple of hours each to walk about. Bourton-On-The -Water is one such charming little village.

Definitely would go back

We don't normally stay in B&Bs but this one has enough rooms and space to be friendly but not feel like you are living in someone else's home. We stayed in the Colebrook room and found that the photo of the room we've seen elsewhere on the internet didn't do it justice. The bathroom is modern and looks like it has just been decorated. The view from the window was of lovely Cotswold buildings and gardens. We couldn't eat at the restaurant as they had a private party that night so drove to The Churchill Arms at Paxford on their recommendation and had a gorgeous meal.
