"This was the last leg of our Japan vacation, traveling with a family of 9. Of all the places we looked at, this was one of the only to offer enough beds, space and privacy for our group. The listing didn’t do justice to this adorable home. There are 3 separate floors. The bottom floor has a room that adjoins another for a family style suite. Great for a family with young children. Centurion Hotel Ueno

10/10 Excellent

"Walking distance to several train stations, surrounded by restaurants, shops and bars, and absolutely lovely staff. The air conditioning is powerful enough to combat the humidity (September visit), the room was very spacious and the outdoor patio was a nice feature. 10/10 would recommend. They have a supply of toiletries if you need them, like toothbrushes, razors, and hairbrushes, and they provided us with luggage storage after we'd checked out. There are two different buildings, across the street from each other, so remember to check in at the main building if you're in the annex. They also have a family mart konbini attached to the main level, so you can get snacks, drinks, and whatever else you may need right there, and a short walk to beautiful Ueno Park!"

"Clean and convenient hotel! The rooms are modern and comfortable. Laundry facilities are available but sadly were in such high demand that we struggled getting our laundry washed and dried (as laundry machines and dryers are separate and need different amounts of time to finish). Nevertheless really enjoyed the Onsen and had a pleasant stay."

"It appeared that the hotel has three separate buildings clustered close together. I stayed in the main building, which had a simple, compact design that was functional, clean, and comfortable. The older gentleman with glasses at the front desk was especially courteous and helpful, which made my stay more pleasant. The location is excellent if you’re visiting Tokyo Disneyland—it’s only two stations away and very convenient. There’s also a 24-hour convenience store right next door, which was a big plus. Another convenience was the direct train ride to Tokyo Station, which took about 22 minutes with no transfer. Overall, a clean, practical hotel in a very convenient location."

"Staff was friendly and speak English well. There was an in-unit laundry which was very helpful. We picked the Superior Japanese room and the room was clean and spacious for a family of four with two young children. 7-Eleven and Lawson were nearby. However, the subway station was about 10-15 mins walk, which was not the most convenient, and the hotel door will be locked after midnight and you would need an access code to enter the hotel, which made me wonder the safety of the area. The varieties of restaurants were not as much nearby, but presuming most travelers have made plans to eat elsewhere. We were there mainly for the zoo and it was convenient for that purpose."
