I informed them the week before that we were repairing the cabin due to water damage from a broken water pipe. I offered him a full refund because I wasn’t sure if all the construction would be completed. He just asked for a discount if he stayed. When he got there he said there was still some residual dust but they cleaned it up. I gave him a full refund of the cleaning fee plus some extra for his inconvenience. After his departure, he complains that he expected a bigger refund or a free stay. I stated that he stayed the entire time, so I couldn’t give him a free stay. Then when my cleaner got there they had damaged the wall by hanging some sort of banner on the wall. The damage to the wall was enough that I had to repaint the wall to cover the parts where the paint was pulled off. We have a very strict, and clearly explained trash policy. They violated that policy by putting the trash on the ground and NOT in a trash bin. The trash was then strewn about the lawn by raccoons. I had no choice, but to charge them for the damages. At this point the renter became abusive, told me never to contact him, and stated that he would “show” me by giving me a bad review. The fact that he thinks I can repair the house on his $100 lost deposit is comical. I tried everything to satisfy him other than giving him a free stay, and he was unreasonable and vindictive. I do hope he holds to his promise and doesn’t rent with us again.

Sherri did indeed lock herself out of the property. I'm not sure what she wanted me to do to fix that. That's why we have a keypad. The AC did stop working and she called me to tell me that after hours. I called the AC repair place and told her they would be there in the morning. She is correct that she was indeed leaving that morning, so that wasn't helpful for her. Turns out a snake crawled into the unit and tried to cool off on the main capacitor causing a failure on said capacitor. As for the trash, she never said anything about loose trash or trash outside of the can until I told her we were going to charge her for loose garbage. That is posted in the house rules and prominently inside the cabin. It is interesting that she didn't have any complaints about trash until I charged her for violating the rules.

I'm sorry you were unhappy with your stay. I wish you had reached out to us directly before giving a bad review. You didn't send pictures or tell us anything about it, so we could try to fix it. One thing I will say is that the outside is in the woods and might be considered "dirty", since it's the outdoors.

The poison did it's job, but unfortunately the mouse picked a bad place to expire. Yes, we have quarterly treatments for bugs and pests because the cabin is in the middle of the woods. The last guests were gone for a week before you came in and unfortunately the mouse decided to drag it's poison treasure into the bed to expire. We were very sorry about it and I can understand your reaction. Again, I wish you would have let us try to fix it first before giving a negative review.

We had a lot of rain and the grass did get a little high. Thanks for the feedback, it has been mowed. Next time, please give some specific areas and give us a chance to fix instead of complaining afterwards.
