Mountain Lodge is a beautiful spacious log cabin with a wonderful high cathedral ceiling and fantastic views over the croft to the hills beyond. It sleeps six in crisp Egyptian cotton bedlinen and cosy Tartan Blanket co. recycled blankets. There is one king size bed, one double bed and two cosy singles, all with en-suite bathrooms or a shower room. A well-equipped kitchen has all you need whip up a Highland feast and there's a large sitting room with crackling wood burning stove.
The space
Upstairs a cosy mezzanine space up under the eaves provides an excellent spot for the kids to spread out their toys and is well stocked with with board games, bedtime stories and movies. The main living room features comfy leather sofas with sheepskins and blankets and art by our resident Big Sky artist.
Venture along the drive for a bit of exploring and den building in the wee wood, say hello to the Highland coos, then head back to your lodge for some marshmallow toasting and an Inverness Coffee Roasters brew by the firepit. Or why not pop along to our local farm brewery, The Black Isle Brewery, for a free tour then while away the afternoon on the deck with a cool organic brew or two.
Guest access
Mountain lodge is set on our croft at Big Sky and has its own spacious garden with outdoor seating and charcoal BBQ. There are miles of footpaths through nearby Spittal wood which can be reached through a blue gate at the bottom of the Big Sky driveway.
Other things to note
We are located just 10 miles North of Inverness so are in the perfect countryside location to explore the city and the whole of the Highlands. The village of Muir of Ord is only two miles away. It has a small supermarket, baker, pub, petrol station and a community cafe. Beauly is the next village along and is very picturesque with lovely cafes, gift shops, baker, butcher and pubs.
