Large Families Beware
Property was great! Lots of outside space to explore for our 8 children under 12! Hiking trail .35 miles away! They had a great time; but were quite dirty from the dust and hiking! We ate most meals on the deck so as to avoid dirtying inside furniture- Showers every night to wash off the day!However- the patio furniture was not meant for children. We were charged for the cost of dirty cushions. The cabin has two bathrooms for 10 people- and if you’ve had children who spent all day outside, white towels are not the best choice. We were charged for these as well. We also had to wash all dishes and silverware after each meal to use for the next as there were fewer than 10 sets available (not enough cereal bowls for breakfast). The upstairs bed is very lumpy and so we slept on the downstairs couch the last 2 nights. We paid a good amount of money to spend time as a family away from the city in a cabin that seemed cozy and not too fancy. No all clad pans, Henkel knives or pottery barn furniture, not even a kettle to boil water for tea or French press. This cabin is great if you want to sit on the deck or watch movies all day (television in every room!); but this is not what our family does.
