We came into town to celebrate Oktoberfest. We booked at this hotel for the proximity to the event and it was a reasonable priced point for opening weekend however this is more of a hostel vibe than a hotel. Our room was decent, but our friends room was very very tiny with two beds. The property itself is a bit beat up. As our friend said “we are about 30 years too old for this place”. If you’re 20 and 30 and just need a place to crash after too many beers it works.

Hotel Amba is right across the street from Hauptbahnhof, so it very conveniently situated. There are many restaurants around, and convenience stores. The rooms are very basic, but clean. We visited in October, and the rooms were dreadfully hot. A pedestal fan was supplied, which was very noisy. Naturally, as it was across the road from the main train station, the noise level was high. I would ask for a room at the back. The bathroom was very snug. A very large person might have trouble wedging themselves on the loo! There were plenty of power points in the room.
