Nice place to stay, but little things would go a long way

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a relatively nice unit, but there are signs that TLC in the unit is needed. It really seems like a unit that no owner has recently visited, because otherwise many of these things would have been taken care of. For example - there are multiple drawers missing handles. The couch and dining room area furniture is nice, but the rest it quite old. The pool is very nice and the location is great. I would note the need to be very cautious with the back stairs. They are tight, and can be slippery. These stairs would not be good for little children or elderly. I wish there was an easy way to get out back without using these stairs.

Reviewer Comments: It was nice, two problems the A/C was not equal, if you tried to get the living room cool the bedrooms were like freezers, the dishwasher needs replacing when open the door goes to the floor, we washed dishes by hand. I did leave my good pillow down there but not going back to get it.we had good time friends that own condo 22 were down.

Reviewer Comments: Sun Dial 33 needs updating:#1 is the furniture in the living room only has a large sofa and it is very dirty and uncomfortable,no chairs of any kind to sit on other than the sofa.#2 kitchen needs new dishwasher.#3when we had to use the furnace itwould come on for maybe 30 seconds and go off and 60 seconds later is would come on again and it would keep doing this when we had to use it.#4 bathrooms need to be updated.#5 the whole place needs to be painted,wallpaper coming apart at the seams in some places.Do not think we would stay in this unit in the future.

The property is not safe for toddlers or elderly/handicapped. Appliances also don't work. Pictures make this place look decent but it's patched together and basically falling apart.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family has been coming to Garden City Beach since 1993 and we have always had wonderful experiences. We have previously stayed at Mariner’s Watch and Sundial. However, this unit was in pretty rough shape. The cabinets were dirty and sticky inside and out, the dishwasher left the dishes dirty after a cycle (we were sure to follow instructions not to put heavily soiled dishes in), the floors left our feet black from walking barefoot on the first day there, the couch and barstools looked dirty, the air vents had a significant amount of dirt and dust around them, and we had several bugs in the unit on our first two days. We also noticed the Wi-Fi would go in and out, it was not reliable at all. My parents and I have stayed in the Sundial numerous times and we have always been so at home there, but this unit was pretty gross. We were excited to see that the Sundial had a 3-bedroom unit to accommodate our recently expanded family, but were quickly disappointed with its current state. I’m not sure where we will stay next year, ideally we would love to return to the Sundial, but likely not unit 33 unless it’s been given some updates and a proper deep clean.

But I washed them B4 an after use.. an the biggest down fall was not being able to use the pool.. this is the 3rd year we have stayed at that condo an only one time was we able to use the pool. So for that reason we will not be booking with sundail in the future we will book with another garden city property.

We had a palmetto “cockroach” infestation spend over 400 dollars in food which 200 of it was ruined by these cockroach we were grossed out mainly because where we live in Pittsburgh having cockroaches is a very dirty and disgusting thing. So anyways we reached out to garden city and they sent someone out immediately to put traps out. Still made for a rough week. garden city also understood are concerns and reimbursed us our food and other things. Overall all we are happy with are happy with Garden City’s response. We would still stay here at the Beach place. Just in hopes the place is pest free.

Terrible experience in Sun Dial 33

Reviewer Comments: It was not good at all, the dishwasher drain plugged up the first day, then a couple days later a maintence man came to door to look at the master bath because it was leaking down on the second floor. So the next day he came to fix that and had are bathroom tied up for 2 or 3 hours. The carpet is dirty throughly the whole condo and the living room wall is like cracking. The couch is very old and wore out. We saw one cockroach In the kitchen counter and then my husband saw two when he opened the sliding to on the patio and he said that they might have went under the carpet. They pool turned my daughter hair green at the ends. The stairs going due. To the pool are in very bad shape. We will never stay at this condo again. Needs updated and cleaned up so bad!!! We have stayed at sone of the other ones before and they were alright. My friend was staying in 32 and there’s was very nice and had nice furniture in it.

The condo needs some updating in the kitchen and hall bathroom, but the sundeck made up for that. The new mattresses on the beds in the bedrooms were very comfortable. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Almost all our expectations with the condo were met. Perfect location, clean and we'll equipped. The only significant problem was the mattresses. Although newer and clean they were cheaply made and harsh and hard to sleep on. We took turns sleeping on the excellent sofa. I think we only slept together 8 nights. There are a few minor maintenance problems. As we had a lot of rain the TV was a bit small and limited channels. But we really appreciated the pool maintenance kept up as the weather became nice enough to use it.

My husband and I saved for 1 year for this trip for our 10th wedding anniversary. We had to pay an additional $240.00 for a early flight home. We asked to be reimbursed for the plane tickets but manager Brad refused. Very regretful we choose this condo. Although on our way out the door the exterminator was there to spray. I hope this doesn't happen with the next people. Our experience was very devastating.

Reviewer Comments: Our family has stayed at Sun Dial in another unit for over 10 years--and we've been very happy. This unit advertised 2 rollaway beds, however they were metal cots with 2 inch pads--an adult could not sleep on the cots. The carpet in this unit was very dirty--cleaning service was minimal, dust everywhere, bathrooms were dirty, kitchen sink leaked. Loved the location!

Disappointed to say the least...

Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at several different units at the Sundial for 6 plus years and we have always been extremely happy, until this year. First off, unit 33 was dirty upon arrival...dirty floors, counters and bedrooms. The moldy smell in the kitchen was awful...I had to buy several candles to mask the smell. There were no tv's in two of the bedrooms...when you have 6 people in three different bedrooms, a tv is a must. The upstairs balcony was a hazard. I alway test them to make sure they are sturdy for my family. The left side rail would move out 3 inches when you would lean on it. Two of my boys stayed upstairs and wasn't able to even use the balcony except for the last day because of this. Thankfully another units owner called maintenance to have it fixed for us. Last but not least, BUGS! There were cockroaches everywhere, inside and out. They were on the floors inside each room, the inside walls and the balcony. This unit has not been kept up at all. Our family of 6 has always loved the Sundial, but this year was so disappointing to say the least. On a positive note, the pool area was nice and clean and the other residents are always such a joy to meet. We will be back, just not at the Sundial #33.
