Amazing view but dirty floors

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location is perfect. We loved the view it felt like we were on the ocean. However, the floors in our condo did not get cleaned. They were gritty and hairy and there was a used tissue on the floor in the living room. I was a little disappointed in the master bathroom. It’s the only bathroom that hasn’t been updated. In spite of this we did enjoy our stay after we cleaned the floors.

Gorgeous Condo

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo is absolutely gorgeous. The furniture inside and on the balcony are in good condition and very comfortable. All the beds are comfortable as well. This is probably the best stocked kitchen of any rental we've ever stayed in. Overall we really liked this condo. The only issue was the noise level of the air conditioning unit. We stayed in the other surfmaster building last year, and never experienced this kind of noise. The AC unit when running is loud enough to drown out the TV. And if it kicks on in the middle of the night, it will wake you up. Other than that we very much enjoyed our stay.

Family vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Oondo very nice and spacious. Great location. Has evertthing you need, it is like a home away from home. Second time we have stayed in this unit. If it storms and the wind blows the sliding doors have a whistling sound that is really loud and you can hear it all over the unit, it will actually wake you at night. I told the office last time we stayed there, which was 3 years ago and it apparentlly wasn’t fixed because it still does it. All it needs is a new seal around the door that slides back and fourth, cause it has a small gap around it and if you push on it ( the side of the door that does not have the lock on it) when it storms and the wind is blowing the noise stops, you can look and the see the gap if you look. It stormed about every night we were there, one night was really bad, it woke everyone and they had the bedroom doors closed. Besides that the unit is really nice and comfortable, plently of room.

It had all the boxes checked for what I look for when booking a vacation rental. It's a three bedroom and many times these rentals don't have enough seating to deal with the rental capacity. This rental had ample living room seating and plenty of dining seats to accommodate its stated sleeping capacity. The balcony also had adequate seating. I understand depending on an owner's situation (kids and/or small dogs) why they would put the safety mesh on the balcony railing, but that is the one thing I wasn't thrilled about. We spend a lot of time on the balcony enjoying the view and the pictures online did not include the presence of that mesh which likely would have steered me away depending on the availability of other units. Not a detraction, just a personal preference that may be helpful for others to know. As far as other items you don't see in rental pictures, this unit has it all. Plenty of cooking resources (pots, pans, utensils), plenty of dishes, a Keurig and a regular coffee pot, a closet full of beach supplies, and games and puzzles to keep you or any kids busy. Plenty of dresser space for clothes as well. (The only thing I can say would be helpful is to clear out some closet space. There was a lot of stuff in the closets and hardly any room to hang clothes. But not a deal breaker by any means, just would be helpful.) The inside is in as perfect condition as you would want for a vacation rental. I would highly recommend this unit.

Fantastic and Surprisingly Exceeded our Expectations

I can’t tell you how many times we’ve rented and had to run out for the simplest of things (utensils, plastic plates and cups, colander...) all of which were available to us at this rental. We didn’t need a thing. We brought our own beach wagon, chairs and sand toys - again, all of which were provided. We could have saved a lot of space in our vehicle had we known, lol. This rental was clean and comfy and very kid friendly. We had such a good time and it began as soon as we walked in the door of Surf Master 413! On another note, we left our JBL speaker behind but housekeeping said nothing turned up or was turned in. Would love to get that back. Who knows...maybe?

Garden City Rentals Surfmaster #413

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unfortunately, this was most likely my last visit to Surfmaster unless individual owners utilize other management companies. Over the last 15+ years, I have been renting condo's at Surfmaster thru GCR, sometimes 2x per year. The last few visits have not been great. On former visits, there have been problems with cleanliness of the condo, broken glass on a bedroom floor, obvious areas missed by housekeeping, stained bedding, cobwebs on lampshades, air vents, etc. This time, it was the condition of the kitchen. when a description of a condo refers to fully stocked kitchen, you would expect pots, pans, utencils, dishware, glasses etc to be clean and ready to use. Not in this condo. It was all disgusting. broken shelves in the refrigerator, torn furniture, pots and pans that I wouldn't feed an animal out of, drawers that were caked with gunk from god knows when, utencils that had to be washed before use as well as the dishware and the final straw-a dried up used tea bag stuck to the side of a coffee cup that had been put back in the cabinet. Thanks but no thanks, I am just tired of dealing with neglect over and over again. GCR does react, they do send someone to inspect what you have found, they even brought a brand new set of pots and pans still in the box unopened, very much appreciated. That was great but too little too late. They leave you with these little cards all over the condo that under the bed was inspected, the floors were inspected, bathrooms etc but that's just BS, if you were really concerned that the condo was clean and ready for occupancy all of the items I mentioned above would have been addressed BEFORE I arrived. I shouldn't have to point these issues out to you. So long GCR/Surfmaster, it was fun while it lasted!

The king and one queen mattress was not real comfortable. Someone sent us the wrong code and we couldn't get in. Air conditioner sounds like a train. No dishsoap. I said there wasn't any small pots but I found them, sorry. But the shrimp pot was burned on the bottom so appreciate the extra pot. We needed it.9

The back closest has so much toys and items for the beach. I loved this property. The patio furniture is great. The only concern i have is that we would run out of hot water very fast. If one person took a shower you would have to wait a hour for the water tank to heat back up fore the next person. Other then that it was a amazing time staying in 413.

Unit 413 is well stocked with all the amenities you need for a fabulous vacation. We like it so much that we rent for four months (yes, months) every year. Surf Master is close to Murrells Inlet where we dine 3-4 times a week at almost every location there.
