Wonderful property, terrible property management
Great property, great views, great for all. I would definitely stay here again if the owner found a new property management company. After working with Big Fish Rentals this once, I wouldn’t recommend any Myrtle Beach property owner utilizing them. Big Fish Rentals was simply excessive. Despite booking through VRBO for a weekend getaway, Big Fish required us to sign their incredibly long contract, provide a large deposit, and submit various forms of identity authentication for “fraud prevention.” I’ve booked many times through VRBO, domestically and internationally, and I’ve never experienced this level of security measures. We pay the VRBO fee and agree to terms with VRBO, which provides the renter with fraud prevention. Big Fish Rentals’ “fraud prevention” measures were so excessive that I felt they were committing fraud themselves. After booking this property and seeing their list of demands, I emailed them saying I’ll cancel my booking. Big Fish said they’d work with me and I didn’t need to submit all my private info. But during check-in, they withheld the check-in code unless I submitted everything. I could write a whole review about how terrible Big Fish Rentals was, how excessive their terms were, and how poorly they communicated. I’ll summarize my review with: loved the property and hated the property management company. There are many units available for rent in this building so I would recommend finding another one so you don’t deal with this nightmare.
