Ok I will be completely honest, do not I repeat do not look at the picture's. Take the pictures and add about 15 years worth of age on top of it. First and foremost the setup of the resort is very confusing. There is two separate buildings far apart from each other and there is no telling what building you are in until you check in. And in the second building there is no staff to help you so if you need help you have to go way down the road to get it. Secondly what’s presented in the pictures is just not the case anymore. The building is old and worn down and needs maintenance badly. As far as the rooms, we had the two bedroom suite in the second building. parking was good and ample. The room was clean and had everything you need. The beds were horrible and need to be replaced the glass doors did not lock so if you have little kids I had to constantly make sure mine weren’t on the balcony by themselves because the doors wouldn’t lock. The location was good but it took them a while to find my Expedia reservation and at first was trying to get me to repay it and cancel on Expedia. All in all I would give it a 3.5 out of 5 my family enjoyed themselves sleep was rough but hey what can I expect for spring break. If money is tight this will be ample but if it’s not I would look at better alternatives.

The room I had was super clean and very nice. However, the oceanfront efficiency room, did not have a balcony just a sliding door and railing which was a bummer. The view of the ocean was amazing! This resort is a one stop shop for pretty much everything you need (bar, restaurant, convenience store, pool front bar, live music). This was my second time staying here and it was great. The line for check in was super long, so please be patient. They need a couple more agents to assist with check in.

My time at the Sands was good me and my family had a good time the bed was good enough and the rooms was ok need to be updated and the bathroom need to be more clean the toilet was dirty when I first got there.

Not only was the bedding dirty, there blood on the wall from what looked like was a smashed very large bug, the dust was thick enough on the lights to write with your finger in, the carpet was never cleaned because we had to wipe feet after walking on it, and every time the AC turned on, urine smell blew from it. Luckily, aside from the room, the ocean made up for it.

Hotel itself has nice amenities and great location however the room we were in needed some TLC. The pillows were lumpy, closet door broken, strong odor in room and hallway right when you get off elevator. When we first got there they put us in a room that was not what we agreed to on Expedia. The rooms are out of dated most of the room leaves more to be desired. With outdated furniture and appliances. A lot of abandoned vehicles are left in the garage which leads to minimum room for guest to park. I highly recommend people to start taking accurate pictures of this hotel because the ones online are very misleading as to the condition of the property.

This place may have been nice a long time ago, but it is very very rundown and the rooms are very outdated and dirty. The pictures they show on the website do not represent what the rooms really look like the staff was very friendly, but the rooms were old and musty tons of cracks in the walls and flooring water seeping under the floor in the bathroom is, I’m sure what caused the musty smell 24 seven our whole floor smelled like marijuana and the elevators did too most of the time

The room we stayed in was only partially cleaned. There were roaches, as well as sand and hair throughout the space. The doors and walls had visible dirt, and the furniture had stains. This was especially disappointing considering it was my fifth stay within the past year, and this was by far the worst experience. Additionally, the woman working at the take‑out counter in the River City restaurant treated us differently in a way that felt discriminatory toward people of color.

We used to bring our kids here a lot but that was over 20 years ago. During that time, you would have thought they would update. However, rooms were filthy, sheets on our bed had stains, hair in tub and on bathroom floor. We went out and bought a blanket to put over bed and slept on that instead. Only good thing was the breakfast. Great buffet and staff was excellent. Next year, we will go elsewhere though!

Upon checking in, we did not get the room we paid for which was a balcony with an ocean view. Instead, we were given a room with balcony view. Because it was spring break for the kids and our sons 4th birthday, we were going to keep the room. When going to the room, we had a balcony but was facing the parking garage and street. The room wasn’t what I expected (considering it was a resort). The mirror in the bathroom looked horrible, the toilet was nasty, and the stove looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned. My husband and I went to the front office and was told they were out of rooms but could give us a refund which would take 5-7 business days to go back to our card. My husband got on the phone with the third party we booked through to see what they could do. After going back and fourth, the receptionist proceeds to say she has another room we can look at that has a balcony and ocean view (how sway) and if we like it could be switched to that room. My husband and I looked at the room and it was a little better, but you can tell the floor hadn’t been swept properly. The third party agent was able to book us with a sister property which was 10x better. Needless to say, we wasted time going back and fourth with the first property and switching hotels and our kids didn’t get to go to the beach or pool that day. We won’t book there ever again.

pictures looked a lot different than in person. hotel room wasn’t actually ocean view and it was super dirty. mold, rust, dust, peeling walls, and dirty floors. that bed and blanket was valid doe. i paid about $150 a night for 2 nights.

The property is showing its age but is still in ok shape. The room was kind of dirty, especially the floor. One bed was comfortable, the other not so much. Not bad for the price I guess. The staff were nice and helpful. The pools were filthy. The on-site restaurants were good. The parking deck is old but was fine.
